totally, and he had to hold together the harmony when Keith completly messed it up. The fact that Keith was given the part of Rusty despite being older than Ben speaks volumes about his level of maturity in performance and ability to act. He would not have been able to handle Ben's part at all.

How does this tie in with the need for the chosen Joseph to be able to play a man of 30+,as well asa young man, if they did not trust the older Keith to play the father role would that not be a good test of his maturity?

I completely agree. Keith has not had a bad song - the week that Lee was quite poorly they gave him Alright Now (god the guy could hardly talk that week) and they gave Keith the Wet Wet Wet song that all of the guys could have sung well - and then said he was the best vocalist. Personally I think he's very nasally and I would rather see any of the other Jospehs than him.

Also I still do not think Keiths diction is up to the standard required for any musical theatre, let alone a West End show, and I agree with Twingle about the left hand, better tonight, but still there. Also did anyone else note that he seemed rooted to the spot throughout Could it be magic

I must admit I did not notice it yesterday, but watching it again this morning, there was one particular bit where you felt he really should be moving and he just stays rooted to the spot, quite fascinating to watch. I must admit I could not watch his performance all the way through I get bored easily

I don't really think Lewis has what it takes yet, I don't think his voice or his acting abilities are up to the job. For the first time last night Keith showed some acting ability that I hadn't seen before, he really did pull out all the stops.
It was obvious that Lee was incredibly nervous (as was I ) last night and his only real standout song was the duet with Lewis. For Lee to get the public vote now, he really has to dig in and get his confidence back because I still believe he is the best alrounder and will be the only one to be able to pull off 8 shows a week.

Now, now, we aren't in the playground.

I'm sorry if you feel that Lee is threatened by Keith's popularity, but it wouldn't be a show worth watching if there wasn't a real contest to win the part.

Just because you are a fan of Lee it doesn't mean that everyone else has to bow down and automatically think that he's the best. The forum isn't the real world I'm afraid and the viewers vote far out numbers the posters vote.

To be fair, we have absolutely no idea how these votes are panning out. The only thing we have to go on is that Lee and Keith have never been in the bottom two, that doesn't mean that they are polling similar numbers of votes every week. It could be that Lee has the lions share, or it could be very close, or it could be that Keith is topping the poll consistently.

It's in ALW's interests to make us think we have a competition on our hands, but we have no idea whether this is actually the case.

Keith is the only true amateur left now and he is learning a great deal every week. His voice is stunning, to me anyway, and everything else he will learn. You can see each week that he takes on board what he is told and shown in rehearsals. The potential is there and he will go a long way.

I totally agree with the point you make. I just find the rather silly and sometimes spiteful posts made by some of Lee's supporters rather pointless.

Don't they realise by going on the offensive it makes them sound a bit desperate and not confident in Lee? We all have our favourite and believe in them, but why do some posters find it necessary to snipe?

I have seen some of the unpleasant remarks posted about Keith by some of Lee's so called fans. I somehow doubt that Lee would be particularly impressed by such unladylike behaviour. Those responsible had better hope that Lee doesn't sit down and read Digital Spy!

He is a great singer, and no-one can take that away from him, but there is so much more to Musical Theatre than just that. In my opinion he has far too much to learn in terms of performance and acting to be ready for this part just yet. Personally I think his heart is in his singing and he doesn't really care too much about the other side of it and if this is the case, he should concentrate on a singing career, and I have no doubt he will be a huge success.

Very true. It's easy to assume that Lee only has to turn up to win, but for all we know Keith could be way ahead every week and Lee has almost been in the bottom 2 several times.

I think we need to also remember that Lee is the only contestant to have anti threads set up against him. One of which was so bad that the DS Mods stopped it, so Lee fans aren't the only ones to have gone on the offensive.

Yep, Pepsi is dead right, there is a great deal more anti-Lee sentiment on this forum than anti-Keith.

Also non Lee fans seem to be more personal with there comments about Lee, I know some of Lee fans mention Keiths teeth, which I do not think is correct. I know I have commented many time about his lack of performance but I will not comment on anything about Keith personally, but lets face it Lees fans have had to put up with comments re Neck Veins, his sibilance, receding hairline to name just three. I think we should all calm down and just stick to criticising the performance elements of the Josephs , ie their voice, star quality, acting ability, stage presence and those attributes that affect their ability to play Joseph.

Lewis is in my opinion far too young for this role, and I agree with the majority of the judges that 1 bad review would send him into panic mode and the whole show could collapse due to his nerves. Let's be honest his Nana cant turn up at all 8 shows every week to support him can she! Keith I believe has an amazing singing voice and with a year or two training in acting and performance I consider he will be a huge west end star, if that's what he really wants but to be honest, although I like him, I just have this feeling that if he were offered the role of lead singer in the next Westlife or a recording contract on his own he would be just as happy as winning the show. The reason I support Lee is because he is that much older, I find it believable when he says this is what he has always wanted, and his past work history and experience proves that he is honest when he says that. Lee also has an amazing presence when performing and his acting is clearly top form. You have to be as good an actor as a singer for the role of Joseph so I truly hope that people vote Lee to win as he is the only one left who has the whole package. If you vote for Keith or Lewis to take on a role like this at their age, with the lack of experience they both have, I truly believe you will sending them into the type of life that the likes of Darren Day had, as they are not mature enough to cope emotionally with the stress and demands of this role.

Please vote Lee if your previous favorite has gone, as in my opinion, if you dont like who is left, at least having supported the show to date means that you like the show Joseph itself and therefore, wouldnt you prefer that the best person had the role?

Actually I have read most of the threads very carefully, and the extreme majority of Lee fans do not use spite, aggression nor simple hate against any of the other contestants. Most of us consider he is the right man for the role, simple. I have no problem with anybody else supporting any of the others, I just believe that if I were an employer looking to fill a vacancy, I would employ the person who ticked ALL the boxes, including some previous experience, not the person I had a hunch just might do the job well - that person would be employed as an assistant then earn promotion by merit and experience. I believe both Lewis and Keith would do very well in smaller roles at the present time, allowing them to gain experience of not just performing on stage but dealing with other cast members, producers, critique etc. then in a year or two, as i have said before, they will more clued up and both I consider would be truly worthy of such a role. At the present time, they just both lack that "all round" requirement for the role, so simply I consider Lee should win. See, no bad mouthing anybody else, it is possible to do.

Unladylike? its actually called humour! All completey tongue in cheek. Anyone with half a funny bone could see it is not done in a spiteful way. The people who we are most offensive to is ourselves.We have never said anything negative about his family or girlfriend and if Lee were to sit down and read our thread i'm sure he'd laugh. At the end of the day he's a 25yr old bloke not a 90 yr old an old miserable git from a Harry Enfield sketch. Something scared me last night.

I saw Evita in March at the Adelphi. Che was fantastic - as you expect in a West End prime role. Oh, what a circus! is one of my favourite songs from the musicals and Lee and Lewis were not a patch on it.

Now, from our final choice, I love Lee and would like to see him win. Keith, I feel, has a brighter future elsewhere. Lewis, I can see, they are grooming for Joseph when the winners run finishes. I didn't like him at all but from the overkill of enthusiam from ALW and crew I think there is a lot more to him behind the scenes that we don't get to see.

So, Lee for Gold! Keith for.......something else...not sure what but he is a fabulous talent (pity he lets us all know he knows it). Lewis for.....understudy or a later replacement?

Most with half a mind know that nothing said in there is spiteful and should take a few comments with a bucket full of salt. I find it very humorous and you know i speak up when i think people go a bit ott.

Those'll be valid reasons for them not to get the job, then
