After a good deal of discussion I have decided to buy a new VHS/S-VHS/D-VHS machine. Does anybody have any links to hardware review sites. (Not manufacturers).

This is a DVD forum, please consult uk.yahoo.com, google.com or deja.com/usenet for *VHS issues.

Hi Zog,
calm down! Obviously nobody (including myself) does know D-VHS related sites. So, why don't you just post your questions about D-VHS here? I'll try to answer them...

Sorry Sexy MF. I've calmed down now, but he came over all school-teacherish with me !
I was just asking for re-direction from what on the whole is a generally well informed bunch of people. For that he slapped my wrists !
This area is also shown as the best place for discussions on 'Home Cinema Configurations' after all. My VCR is at the heart of mine.
Sticking to the point (before I get Mooned again) I've dismissed D-VHS. Appealing though the idea is, at £900 for the tasty JVC unit, I feel it is still vastly overpriced. No digi output on my set-top box defeats the object a little as well.
I'll come back to it once the manufacturers and the market have sorted out the preferred recordable DVD format.

I good site to try is www.homecinemachoice.com
I've subscribed to this mag for years and the website on the whole is good with a search facility for hardware reviews.
Hope this helps
