Texting someone on holiday in France
My parents are on holiday in France, my Dad sent me a text message confirming their safe arrival, if I reply to that message will I have to change the prefix from 44 to something else?

No you don't. It gets sent to the message inbox just the same as it would in the United Kingdom. Friends regularly text me when I am in Spain.

No, you use the usual UK number and pay the usual UK rate. Their network provider will handle getting the text to your dad's phone in France.
Your dad will be paying extra to send texts whilst outside the UK, or to make or receive phone calls. He will probably not be paying to receive texts. |
