i'm after a "cheap" dvd player that will allow me to play CDR and CDR-W VCD's, is multi-region and supports the RCE format.........i know not much really lol

i've been informed that LG, Pioneer and Philips make models supporting these 3 things but can't seem to decide on which one to go for - could someone point me in the right direction or suggest another player that is as good!

I have a Pionner 535 (modded by Techtronics) which does all of that. I think they still have a few left (www.techtronics.com).

The Pioneer's are renowned for playing all CDR's and CDRW's and the mod from techtronics are happy to play RCE disks.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pioneer or Techtronics. The multimod also removes Macrovision.

Just to add to your confusion, have you considered the JVC 521/522/523? They do all the stuff you mentioned, plus with the multiregion upgrade from techtronics they can do NTSC -> PAL50 conversions.

thanks for all your posts i reckon i'm gonna go 4 the cheapest option........the good old Himage 2290 from Richer Sounds for a pricely fee of £99.95 They do charge u £10 for making it multi-region but it's only a remote hake which u can do yourself It does CDR/CDRW/VCD and MP3 is muti-region and has macrovision disabled as standard!
