The easy answer is to get an Inverter 12V-240V, Maplins sell them or caravan accesory shops

Found a Link - http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?...source=15&SD=Y

Inverters are great, but ill be a little wary about an inverter for continual use. Some develop a lot of heat.

Best have a look on that auction site for something.

Thanks guys, I have a 150W inverter but I thought they it will drain my batteries quicker then a straight 12V box.

See if you can pick up a Pace Javelin on fleabay. They were official 12V mini digiboxes.

They usually attract a premium price, also they only have one scart socket.

Caravan owners snap them up.

Suppliers to the caravan/motorcaravan market carry a decent range of 12V digiboxes, freeview decoders and even pvrs. One of the best suppliers is Roadpro: http://www.roadpro.co.uk/retail/default.aspx

While of course you can use an inverter, they can be a bit inefficient. And 12v versions of the boxes are surprisingly small (even assuming there's no need for a power supply).

I realise the post was for a digibox, but companies such as Maplin do this Comag satellite receiver which will run off a 12v supply: (Maplin code is A94FJ)

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?...source=15&SD=Y

Worth also checking - occasionally they will have a stock return (B grade) at a much lower cost - comes with the same guarantee.

There's a few on ebay just now here and here (2 different searches, each returns a few)
