Don't know if anyone has seen this yet but Picture Box, which is currently available through Top Up TV at the moment, is coming to Tiscali TV. It has been advertised on Tiscali TV today as 'Coming Soon' but no date has been given. Does anybody know of a date for this or not??? I don't see the point of another film channel, but still they do show some great films on Picture Box!!

Universal, so that covers the HD-DVD's that Blu-ray doesn't get.

I thought a "Picture Box" was more commonly known as a T.V.

It's a few Gb of storage - does it matter?

Picture Box on TUTV is an on demand service whereby a selection of films are streamed to the box and you can subscribe to be able to view them.

On that basis I'd guess that on TiscaliTV it's going to be a selection of films available on demand for a monthly sub but there's no network impact - unlike live channels which require backhaul.

I'm happy to see as many VOD channels as possible - they don't require network capacity beyond that currently required for a customer and they don't require constant backhaul for a 24hour stream of a live channel.

PictureBox is here, but at £5 a month - they wont have my custom. Ill stick to odd movies now here and there, and film 4 for now on...

Are the films on PICTUREBOX in 16:9/HD?
Do they have DD5.1 sound?

Nothing on Tiscali TV is currently in HD nor do they currently support true surround sound.

These steps will have to wait for the new box to be provided as the current box only has Scart outputs, no DVI, HDMI, Component or digital audio out.

I can't comment on films being in 16:9 as I have not subscribed to PictureBox.

I subscribe through TUTV. Yeah, movies are usually shown in their native aspect ratio.
