530H-S - Parental Lock
Hi
Came home from work yesterday to find my kids "accidentally" watching a horror I had recorded the previous night. The manual mentions a parental lock but gives not detail on the subject or what it does. Anybody know if I can set a PIN for individual programmes in the disk navigator? If so how? Thanks |

Page 106 gives details on how to set a PIN, however it looks like this only works in conjunction with a DVD that has parental controls on it. "Only certain discs have parental lock features". I can't find any reference to setting restrictions on access to individual hard disk recordings. Try going into the navigator and have a look through the Edit options on any given recording to see if it gives you a lock option.
PS. Actually, there is a Lock function but I think what this does is prevent you from accidentally deleting the recording. |

Hi Chris
Thanks for the comments - true, the lock function only stops the accidental deletion of a recording. To be able to set a PIN for certain recordings would be a very useful addition in my opinion - the whole beauty of the system is that you can record a programme past water-shed & watch during the day - unfortunately this leaves it open to inquisitive minds…. Looks like I'll have to stop recording the 3 min preview on the adult channel
