First big festival weekend upon us, with the Isle of Wight festival, Download in Donnington and Rockness by the banks of Loch Ness all happening. Some great headliners between them.

I'm off to Isle of Wight for my second year and can't wait. Any other DSers heading places?

Have a great time on the IOW.

Acts appearing include Snow Patrol, Groove Armarda, The Feeling, Muse, Kasabian, Wolfmother, Ash, Amy Winehouse, The Rolling Stones, Keane, The Fratellis, James Morrison etc, etc.

I am slighly bias, as I live on the IOW, but that is a "cracking" lineup!

Channel 4's coverage is rather lacking
two or three songs maximum from the headliners and a few random songs from the rest of the bill.

NOt really good enough At least with Glastunbury, bbc3 does more or less the whole thing, and you can select which stage you want to watch

Having said that, the IOW is my fav festival for going to. NOt too big great friendly crowd, good mix of old an young festival goers Even more important, the weater is always good

They had the Red Arrows last evening - right over my house! They have had lovely weather this weekend - a lot of red backs around and people are going to be so sore tomorrow! There will be fireworks after the concert so will have a look out for them.

I just saw that on my Sky+, I wish I was there this year

My TV guide says there's a programme tonight on C4, 11:35pm - 1:10am.

I won't be watching as none of the artists appeal to me but thought I'd let others know .

The fireworks were great. I just looked out of my bedroom window and they were right in front of me - no neck-craning this time!

I was at Rockness for the weekend, Sat was the best day, for weather and acts, caught Tim Deluxe, Groove Armada, The Chemical Brothers (got foggy late on and the laser show was fantastic and atmospheric), Kelis and The Charlatans, Sunday not so good, partly self inflicted though, The Automatic, Yousef and Mark Ronson were great as were the Manic Street Preachers (gave up trying to see Daft Punk due to the mahoosive queues to get in to the tent they were performing in. Good weekend, not as good as last year and not up to T In The Park, yet.

It is a bit random (still can't believe they didn't feature Fix You by Coldplay last year!), but I like how it encompasses the atmosphere of the campsite better than most. Shame the extra show on Sunday afternoon on T4 just showed tracks that were on the late night shows as well.

Bloody brilliant weekend btw, the forecast of rain for Sunday was way off, it was scorching! Red Arrows were a highlight, and The Feeling, Kasabian and Muse really stood out for me.

Sad to hear of the death at Rockness, with the drugs going about perhaps the surprising thing is that there aren't more fatalities at these events. Still, no drugs required for a brilliant weekend
