Thanks for that Cleo, interesting stuff, it's really obvious that Zoe far, far prefers the boys to the Maria contestants. And she was quite clear about her position on the Daniel thing too, I'm really glad she and John gave Andrew grief about that, they were dead right to.

I thought the bit about Lewis and his hair straighteners was hilarious *sniggers*. Seriously though, sometimes this show is in dire need of some testosterone (now that Rob's gone). I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that Lewis almost certainly uses more grooming products than I do.

Also interesting when asked about what they might do if they lost - she talks about Keith and Lewis which almost assumes she thinks there is only 1 winner [the bookies look like they agree!].

Bit of a freudian slip there methinks *inwardly cheering* I wonder if the panel know what number of votes the guys are polling every week? Andrew and the BBC have been very stingy about sharing this info with the public, I wonder if they keep information from the panel too? I would love to know just how close it is between Lee and Keith.

''we've done more musical theatre songs than we did in Maria''

really? I would say they had done considerably less...

It's very funny to think of Lewis and his hair tongs!! It's just the kind of loveably daft thing you can imagine from him!!
Colleague of mine was very disdainful of the whole thing as she said it was so 'full of pretty-boy pansies' which had me in hysterics....Daniel being, she said, one of the worst in that respect! I was quite amazed that anyone would rate Daniel like that more than , say, Chris B. or Lewis?!
I'm glad of Zoe's comments on Dan, mind you, although nobody in their right mind could hold a grudge against Lewis, the lamb that nevertheless never fails to skip!

I suspect they may be rather sneaky in how they're counting this by including songs from 'jukebox' musicals - the ones that are based around pop songs - or others that have used pop songs. As an example, they described Lee's 'I don't wanna talk about it' as from 'Tonight's the Night' which is true but only because it's a pop song by Rod Stewart. Also, they described the group number 'Do You Love Me?' as a song from the musical Dirty Dancing - well not originally it wasn't!

Well i think its a forgone conclusion really. I'll be very very surprised if Keith can pip Lee to the job, and if Lewis gets it, i'll eat my hat, although i'd be pleased for him .

I'm glad she was honest about how the panel felt when ALW gave poor Daniel the boot. His exit has certainly been the one to cause the most outrage!

I wouldn't have had Daniel up there with the 'pretty boys' either! He's definitely more in the 'man' category.

Interesting.......thanks Cleo1.
Also glad to read what Zoe said about Daniel....they certainly should have been up in arms about his exit!

(You can't call Daniel a "pretty boy".......he definitely doesn't come across as at all camp, imo.)

It's very interested that she hardly mentions Lee. Either she's not that excited about him or doesn't want to dwell on him because he's the favourite to win. Maybe she doesn't want it to look like it is a forgone conclusion.

Think it could be either reason really - zoe has never seemed overly keen on lee, so could be because of that, or could also be because hes the fav to win - pity whoever interviewed her didn't ask the question.

I saw Zoe and Ben interviewed today on BBC news 24 on the entertainment bit.... She was so blatantly gunning for Keith to win and slating Lee's performance on Sat. I didnt catch what she said about Lewis..

Ben said that Lee could do the job but didnt have "the edge" to be outstanding or different. I'm sure Lee is very grateful to his good pal for that comment.

Wasn't Zoe the only one on HDYSAPLM that thought Helena should win, while ALL the others wanted Connie to win

true. Zoe generally prefers great vocalists or those who improve to be great over the series. But still at least Helena could actually act and perform unlike Keith.

Yes I quite agree I do not see how Keith has got this far with very little negative comments from the judges re his performance

Her we go again, moaning on about Keith's alleged lack of stage presence/acting talent. I just do not share these concerns and cannot see the difference betweeh him and the rest in this respect. In fact on more than one show I thought he really worked the set demanding attention. But, hey, maybe I'm just too easily pleased with a super voice!!

In that case ewan so must I!

As we near the Saturday night Final, I am becoming prepared for further negative remarks from those staunch fans of Lee.

I appreciate that they feel strongly about their idol, but trying to knock down the opposition by voicing their opinions on what they perceive to be Keith's lack of this, or that, is really not going to sway his fans onto their side.

I could express quite an opinion myself on what I consider to be Lee's shortcomings, but out of politeness and respect for the hard work that they have all put in to get this far, I prefer to let sleeping dogs lie and keep those opinions to myself.
