On the contrary, I think there are examples of men in business giving businessmen a bad name. There are also business stereotypes which men do have to work to get rid of.
But I think the difference is that many male employers already hold strong views on women in the business world and they are outdated and damaging to women who try to make it up the ladder. I've always said it can take a hundred women to shatter a stereotype, but only one to re-inforce it. Indeed, here on DS there was a thread that confirmed that for me when Michelle fell pregnant before she started with Sir Alan. It wasn't long before the attitude of "see that's the problem with employing women" appeared. This is despite the fact that there are millions of women in business who don't do what michelle did.
The reason it is more pertinent to women is that the statistics show they are more likely to be discriminated against.
