Classic!!!”

Yeah, people are saying it was staged but it looked a lot more like Sugar was playing her to see how far she was prepared to go.

Dislike Katie but she ran rings around that other woman. Kirsty Wark and Adrian Chiles seemed quite bemused by how media savvy she was.

I'd say she is a different type of bad role model! I'm actually not sure which is worse. I'll settle for Katie being the lesser of two evils!

On the contrary, I think there are examples of men in business giving businessmen a bad name. There are also business stereotypes which men do have to work to get rid of.

But I think the difference is that many male employers already hold strong views on women in the business world and they are outdated and damaging to women who try to make it up the ladder. I've always said it can take a hundred women to shatter a stereotype, but only one to re-inforce it. Indeed, here on DS there was a thread that confirmed that for me when Michelle fell pregnant before she started with Sir Alan. It wasn't long before the attitude of "see that's the problem with employing women" appeared. This is despite the fact that there are millions of women in business who don't do what michelle did.

The reason it is more pertinent to women is that the statistics show they are more likely to be discriminated against.

I was just stating that I realy liked Katie that's all. You're more of the saddo for getting all upset about that! There is just no need for such remarks.

I don't care what Katie thinks. Of all things, I'm sure she would welcome the support. ”

In Katie's mind I suspect she sees a persons support for her as a weakness in that person to be used to her advantage.

One thing I noticed on the BBC2 show was her West Counry accent, was that the real Katie finally coming through. I hadn't noticed it before.

Yeah the bra lady was horrible wasn't she! At the end of the day katie was the most interesting contestant this year and from that perspective she has done the best. She was also offered a place in the final, and turned it down for her family and because she already earns 90K, so i dont know how this lady can say she hasnt made it and is selfish. We all know who katie is, but how many know who this woman is?! She has the personality of a dung beetle as far as i'm concerned and deserves to be stomped on!

Lol. This made me laugh.

But really, can you honestly hate the woman so much? It's only a gameshow after all......

Michelle Mone was absolutely spot on giving it to Katie with both barrels.

Anyone who deliberately breaks up a family then relishes in describing it as "8 out of 10" on the ruthlessness scale is just total and utter scum. Imagine if the kids from the multiple homes she has broken were watching that? Katie is an appalling human being, and deserves nothing but utter disdain.

I think I'll make Michelle a bit richer tomorrow by treating my wife to some Ultimo scanties, in celebration of Michelle's clear vision! Is it any good, her stuff btw?

I can kinda see what you're trying to say, but I still think she was by far the most entertaining person on the show.

The show would have been quite dull without her. Love her or loathe her, everyone seemed to be talking about her and it brought some much needed excitement to this series.

Purleez Kirsty Wark alone even on a bad day would make minced meat out of her intellectually and entrepreneurially. She didnt come across media savvy at all...just bolshy.

Yes because men who have made vows to remain faithful to their wives are never at fault whilst their bit on the side gets all the blame.

And we're back in the 1950's.

Sure, they are guilty too. But they don't go on TV calling it an 8 out of 10

I must have been watching a different programme then because on the one I watched horse-face Katie got her a*se well and truly kicked. Was nice to see her get a taste of her own medicine.

I thought it was rich that the bra woman was telling her she was appalling when she herself was like some sort of fish wife slagging of across the table on live national tv
She was a joke and i think Katie handled it exceedingly well

Re katie's 8 out 10 response. I wondered if she went after the married man not because she loved him but because she disliked his wife.

Oh be serious. Obviously Katie wasn't being grilled on Newsnight. Nobody said she was. But she did have nimble one liners that were making Wark and Chiles smile and not know where to look in spite of themselves. They seemed entertained by the performance despite being on the side of the hostile panel. The Scottish woman had the crowd on side and went for the kill but frankly got out maneuvered which to be honest shouldn't have been possible. It's more fun booing the pantomime villain than applauding a dour stereotype taking gruff cheap shots with no finesse and Katie knew this and turned it to her advantage with the camera and the audience. She managed to be a lot more self depreciating than normal too. Obviously she's been hideous throughout the whole series though. I just think she handled a difficult situation well and clearly has a skill for public speaking, especially for someone who wouldn't be used to filming a live discussion program with crossfire from other guests. She was savvy in terms of how she conducted herself within that room. Whether she has any clue what the wider implications will be of her stint on the series though I agree that's difficult to know.

Which has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. So why bother saying anything.

Michelle Mones been gunning for katie for weeks, she has hated her from the word go and has said so on the Your Fired show. Im sure we would have been very surprized if she had said nothing. She was spoton in opinion but a bit OTT in the delivery.

It was almost embarassing she said nothing clever she just hurled insults at Kate like some sort of adolescent i was half expecting her just to go over and pull katie hair out

How is it anti-men to say that it is very old-fashioned to hold the woman as the evil one when she's single and he's the one breaking his vows? It's an attitude that has long been recognised as being discriminatory. Being anti-discriminatory is only anti-men if one supports the idea that men prefer discrimination. Wait, you might have a point...

Not on the grounds of their sex.

Quote:
“There are also business stereotypes which men do have to work to get rid of.”

I'd be interested to know what those are.
