When the Joseph programme first started I was under the impressing that as well as looking for a Joseph, ALW was hoping to cast a Pharaoh from the final 12 too. Has any more been mentioned on this? Who do you think would make a good Pharaoh, I think that one of the younger contestants would make a good Benjamin but I guess ALW doesnt want to cast too many from the reality show, although I think the public would love it if he did!

Yeah, I got that impression as well. I suppose we'll see what happens. Neither Pharoh nor Benjamin have been announced (have they?) so the possibility is still there. I'm not sure if any of the other Josephs actually suit Pharoh very well (maybe Rob, but I'm not all that convinced by his acting) but I can see at least five potential Benjamins.

Thanks for that, wouldn't surprise me at all if Andrew gave one of the lads a call. I wonder who?

I feel Ben is a distinct possibility, as the role of Benjamin does not require any solo singing, but he would be able to be part of the ensemble and learn from those around him

I wouldn't have cast Preeya as the narrator! Hmmm, will have to see how that works out. Didn't realise that Lewis was formerly in a boyband either.. news to me!

The rest of the cast have apparently been rehearsing for a few weeks already, so I'm afraid not.

Sorry but I cannot imagine anything less likely.

Why on earth would anyone want to cast any public loser in a part?

I cannot see ALW ringing any of the losers either.

because he might just be excellent in the part?

WE producers are casting for their show and only their show. If they believe the person has the personality and talent to match their expectations for the character, they'll cast him.

These guys all made the last twelve from thousands of applicants, how on earth can they be losers? There's only one role to fill so everyone else is a public loser?

Gosh, is there any need to be so harsh? 'Public loser' is a totally inappropriate term for these boys who have reached the top twelve out of tens of thousands of hopefuls.

Andrew has already cast, to use your charming term, a 'public loser' as an alternate Maria in the Sound of Music (and as a matter of interest, the girl in question actually placed fourth). A few weeks ago he hinted that he thought some of the lads didn't really suit Joseph, but they would be suitable for other roles in the show. Naturally enough, this gave rise to a bit of speculation and given that I couldn't find an actor named as Benjamin I wondered. Given that the rehearsals are already started, it seems unlikely now, but economically, it makes sense to me. Keith, for instance, pulled in just under a million votes on Saturday, wouldn't it make sense to draw in his fanbase by casting him in another role in the show? (I'm just using Keith as an example, he wouldn't necessarily be my choice, but he did have the largest fan base after Lee).

Most of the 'public losers' from the Maria show have been offered parts by theatre producers based on the fact that they are now well known names with the theatre going public and will bring a fan base with them. I've no doubt that we'll see the same with the Josephs over the next few months.

Sorry to repeat myself, but in answer to this comment, if 'the man ain't stupid' how then do you explain his casting of 'public loser' Aoife Mulholland as an alternate Maria?

Has he actually cast any of the other losers for any other part in that particular musical?

The person you mentioned was a candidate for the part of Maria so why on earth is she being used to back up your argument?

Have any of the other candidates for the part of Maria been cast in TSOM?
