If Katie Hadn't Stood Down Who Would SAS Have Picked For The Final?
Gloria Fandango

Just wondering who SAS would have picked to be in the final with Katie had she not stood down?

For me it would have to have been Christina.

Do Christina and Simon now feel they are in the fianl by default??

I'd feel awful that I was there by default. It would certainly be niggling at the back of my mind that maybe I didn't deserve to be there. I bet Kristina in particular was furious that Katie kinda handed the position over. Simon, I imagine, is just pleased to stick around his childhood hero for a little longer. I reckon SAS would have/should have picked Kristina if Katie hadn't stood down, particularly as the interviewers only had good things to say about her.

I think he would have picked Kristina to go through to the final with Katie.

Kristina deffo Simon is not really good but i think the only reason he was on final is that he know Sir Alan life story!

I can't recall anyone in the previous shows getting such a glowing recommendation from the interviewers as Kristina, unless AS had some specific reason why he shouldn't follow their advice she would surely have been in the final.

Again I cannot understand how Simon has got this far. He was so jittery in the interviews one chap had to ask him to actually look him in the face whilst talking rather than at the floor, and when AS asked him in the boardroom to justify himself he looked like a nervous 15 year old trying to persuade his dad to to let him go on the school skiing trip.

I think the key is what Jadine said of him, that he is a bit of a chameleon who is very good at ingratiating himself with whoever he happens to be with. I don't care how badly Kristina may do in the final, if Simon wins it will be a farce - he's only there because they need two and Katie absented herself.

I actually thought he would have picked Simon.

Especially after Kristina disagreed with him and told him he was wrong when he complimented her - she basically told him she couldn't do the job with the whole syringe thing.

Plus I'm not convinced he would have gone for an all female finall again. Rightly or wrongly, I'm sure after what happened with Michelle that he would be wary of that situation.

I am a Simon "fan" though....

not necessarily. It's a completely different situation with Kristina vs Katie compared to Michelle vs the Badge

Not that I want to offend single mothers, But I would have thought having two single mothers in the final would be more of a worry to him..... in terms of other commitments they have at least.

Simon. He's been virtually guaranteed the job for the last three weeks. Kristina is second best and she must know it.

well, Kristina's "Kristina time" argument seemed to work with him, especially as her kid is old enough to look after himself now.

Whereas Katie's "done this, done that, done the kid thing...next..." reflected really badly on her.

Hmmm yeah, I suppose.

I wonder maybe if he would have had all 3 in the final? Especially after the rumour that the final would be between 4.

And there are 13 other apprentices, so still enough for them to have 4 team members each.

With the final being a presentation based task, it wouldn't matter how many finalists he had.

And I do believe he genuinely was torn.

Kristina and Katie would have been a really great final to be fair.

I can't believe Katie stood down - because it was obvious Sir Alan was hinting at it. I thought her ruthless and competitiveness streak would have made her not concede.

Yes, I agree that Sir Alan was in a hard dilemma. I don't really like Simon to be honest and don't think he would be that good an Apprentice if he won. Katie only went as although she had the abilities etc, she had no commitment.

I don't think he would have had Katie in the Final I think he was playing mind games and I think she knew it too which is why she stood down. I think he would have had a change of mind and totally humiliated her had she not stood down

I agree. He gave her the final place very reluctantly, and with a lot of criticism...and then sat back to wait for her reaction, while subtly goading her into resigning. A lot of subtext going on...and both knew it.

Kristina and think it would have been a tough call as to who won between her and Katie.

I think Simon is great, but Kristina will win,
