I received my copy of the Beatles' Number 1 album today and what a great album it is.

It has all their number ones (27 of them) spanning, a little over 8 years.

What a phenomenal band

A great cd but it just has all there chart hits which i know is the aim of the album but it does not reflect the true quality of the beatles. Sgt peppers lonely hearts club band is a great album which i brought recently buy that as well which showcases some other qualties.

According to the mail on sunday's tv supplement BBC2 are showing a double bill of the fab four's films on saturday afternoon. They are Yellow Submarine and A Hard Day's Night. Here's hoping that they also show Help and Let It Be which haven't been shown on tv for many years.

(I know i will probably regret saying this, but) I've never been a massive fan of The Beatles.
I have to admit they had a few great songs though, which i liked!!!

Bought this CD for my Dad two Christmas's ago - but i have never listened to it!!

I still haven't put this album down

I knew the Beatles were good, but not this good! Hmmm, I'm tempted to purchase the Red Album (early years) next.
Possibly the White Album, Revolver or Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Any recommendations?

The Blue Album - it has some excellent tracks from all the albums you mentioned.

To be fair Red is easier to get into but Blue is where the class is IMHO.

**these lyrics may be wrong as I don't listen to more than 5 seconds of any new Madonna song**
