I think Ant and Dec and ITV need to do some brushing up on their crocodiles.

Given the length and relative narrowness of the snouts on the crocs in the croc pit, they are definitely Crocodylus Johnstoni (the freshwater crocodile).

They are not "man-eaters" and feed mainly on insects, frogs, lizards, turtles, with bats, birds and small mammals being taken occasionally at the water's edge.

Well, I can tell you, from experience, that they are safe to be around. I have been within a metre of them in Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) in the Northern Territory.

The "celebs" must have seen enough Discovery Channel documentaries on crocodiles to know that only the salties are dangerous, and they are a long way inland...

Discovery Channel? Come on now... we're talking about people who try to combat insects in their pants with karate.

OK, but surely their agents would have told them about the wildlife they would expect in Queensland.

Hope they run into some cassowaries... That'd be a laugh

Well that's good to know. If we're ever in the jungle together you won't mind me throwing you towards the croc while I get out the way.

I'd be more scared if I suddenly found myself in the jungle with someone I didn't know

True... But you'd have thought that their agents would have told them how long they'd be in the jungle for - Phil Tufnall's agent obviously hadn't told him cos he was asking Tony how long it was before one of them would be leaving!!

Ah... I've got it... Tony is Antony Worrall-Thompson, not Mr Blackburn (or even myself)

They should have wrestling with taipans as a challenge

I hardly think theyd put real man eating crocs in there.
well, they could, but I dont think even the producers would go THAT far!.

didnt someone in another thread mention 'shark infested waters'. I guess croc infested is close

i think thats a very niave comment to make, he wasn't actully using karate to combat the insects he was using the meditation and techniques that go with it to combat his fear of it. I think that he did amazingly well considering how scared he was.
