I've recently aquired the Sony DVP-S735. But I have difficulties in deciding how to connect it to my TV, so I can use the DVD palyer in RGB mode. My TV has two scarts at the back, and AV inputs at the front. To the best of my knowledge only AV1 is RGB compatible. But into this I have plugged my Sky Digibox. My VCR is plugged into AV2. I have been using my DVD in the front AV inputs, but as I have said I would like to use it in AV1 for RGB. Does anyone know a way I can connect the DVD and Sky box to AV1 so that I can use RGB. All my appliances have 2 scart sockets. My DVD player, my TV, my Sky box and my VCR. Any help would be much appreciated, and I'll thank you all in advance.

I suggest you to use S-Video cable to connect
DVD-TV and RCA Audio.
See my last comment in the topic "SCART vs. S-Video" in this forum.

I had the same issue with my Hitachi 36" WD which also only has 2 SCARTs with one RGB enabled. My sub-optimal solution is:
Cable Digital on AV1-RGB enabled : because I watch this 90% of the time
VCR on AV2 - Second most used device
DVD via S-video to front of TV: only connected when we watch DVD (occasional).

Not ideal as I'd like the DVD to go to a socket on the back but no choice. Only alternative would be to buy a SCART switch box but don't know how well these work.

Same on my Panasonic 28"W/S.
Sathelp has posted on this problem in the Sky Digital section.
I think the connections are made as follows:-
Fully wired Scart cable from Digibox TV Scart to AV2 on the DVD player.
Fully wired Scart from AV1 on the player to TV AV1 Scart socket.
Fully wired Scart from Digibox VCR Scart to VCR AV1.
An alternative to this arrangement is to connect the DVD on AV1 to the Digibox VCR Scart and to connect the VCR to AV2 on the DVD.However this arrangement may result in Macrovision problems with the VCR record and playback.

Automatic Scart switch boxes are available from Lektropaks and Keene Electronics for aroud £90 - a lot of money.

The simplist solution is a scart plug to two scart socket adapter.Which ever source you then switch on or from standby wil take precidence using the pin 8 switching.
The adapters aren't that expensive, try Letropacks, their on the net.
