Just wondering, because for most of the boys they can't hit the last note.

Have they ever sung that song for the judges?

Lewis could easily have hit it had he not been so emotional. He could barely sing that last line his voice was trembling so much, but in a way I think he was enjoying every second!

What an exit!

I think its a shame that Keith was the only one who never got a chance to sing a final song

Having reached the final, surely he deserved it?

I think the song really show cases the talent of those who left - usually ten times better than the performances that got them booted off.

They could have based the competition on that song alone - but it would have been quite a short contest lol

I thought that was beyond harsh. I mean, obviously you can't announce the winner and then say "but, wait, Keith needs to hand his coat back!" - but I feel like he really got pushed to one side at the end of tonight's show. He deserved a little bit of attention for being second (hell, even the godawful Grease show managed that!)

you finish second and you're pushed out of the way for the winner poor Keith but I doubt he'll be back @ Tesco's on monday

of course they focused on the winner - to be fair, wouldn't have made the viewer too happy, after voting lee as their winner, it was focused on keith after he lost and lee won

I'm sure the Lee fans wouldn't have minded considering Keith came second.

I think he deserved at least a small interview and the chance to thank the judges (and hear their advice). I'm sure the viewer wouldn't mind that. He DID come second after all.

yes - but there wasn't time - better to see the winner than the runner up. would have been nice if there was time to do both, but as there wasn't then of course people would want to see the winner.

True. Like I said, I can see it would be jarring if Graham had gone "yay, Lee's won, but wait - here's Keith!". The ending (with the full "Any Dream Will Do") was lovely, and I would have hated to see it cut.

At the beginning of the contest I really didn't like Lewis, I thought he was too 'plastic' looking and reminded me too much of Bob Downe. However, the last few weeks I have really warmed to him (didn't want him to win though- wanted Keith or Lee ) and I found his "Close Every Door" rendition really emotional.

I think if "wee Keef" had had to sing it I would have been on the next flight to London, to give him a huge cuddle.

All these shows seem to completely ignore whoever came second as soon as the winner is announced. It always seems rude to me.

I wanted Lee to win, but surely they could have let Keith perform 'Close every door' first? The show could still have closed with 'Any dream' and Keith would not have been robbed of the same chance as every other would-be Joseph.

I understand it is a bit contradictory as soon as the announcement is made - but it could still have been done. After all - every week in the show the winners jump up and down at getting through - but still come back to sing the song with the loser.

I donīt see how it would have been a problem to let Lee give a little speech first and then turn to Keith and let him do his song. Then Lee could close the show with his winning song.

It just seems unfair that Keith got less recognition than Lewis (both speaking and singing) and never got to sing his song. In fact less recognition than any of the other Josephs and he had reached the final.

I taped both shows as I was out and I missed the end of both shows so they were obviously running over.

maybe that was why they didn't speak to Keith ?

I really don't think it would have worked to have Keith singing Close Every Door after the winner was announced, they should have let him talk though. I suppose they were running late? It did seem rushed at the end.

I understand that they hadnīt planned for him to sing or say anything, so given the time allocation I understand how it wasnīt possible.

What I am saying is that I think it should have been planned for in the show. Maybe that particular song would have been a bit wierd after the audience cheering for Lee - but as someone mentioned - the least they could have given him was a time to chat - look at the time Lewis got - and he was by far less popular than Keith who was never in the sing-off. I just felt for Keith to have done so well, he got less īKeith timeī than any of the other Josephs. I still think it would have been possible to have a bit of time with Lee (after he was announced the winner - followed by Keith (and maybe a song) and then back to Lee and his exit song. The show could have been made to include all this if they had wanted to.

That what I meant, it would have been too weird for him too sing that song after the winner was announced but I agree that he should have at least gotten time to speak.

If Keith hadnt spent so long huggling lee they might have had time for a few more words with Keith.

Realy though as the second show was al the final 2 I dont think anyone missed out on anything.

The runner up in these competitions never gets any show. It'd be inappropriate to concentrate on them once the winner has been announced. On Fame Academy it was better to come 4th than last, because you got your week of appearances on BBC Choice.

I would have thought that everyone would have sung it at some point in front of the judges....either in rehearsals or during their stint at Joseph school.

After all, each night nobody knew who would leave until ALW gave his verdict so no doubt they all had to be prepared and know the song etc.

I agree, but in a way, it was a bit of a shame that he was the only one who didn't get to do it, because he would have done it very well.
