Do you think Norton and company will be back next year for another Maria/Jospeh type show? If so what musical?

Or would you like them to give it a rest?

I hope so. I love the format of the show and the judges/host are fantastic.

I suppose it's too much dancing too!

i'd only like them to do one if its gonna be as good as ADWD and maria...I dont know if any other ALW musicals would work. But then again, sound of music wasnt ALW so he could adopt one to re-arrange and we could have a good show again!

ALW said he isn't doing one next year as he wants to take time out to write the sequel to The Phantom Of The Opera ..

I do hope he changes his mind

I hope he gives Phantom itself a bit of a refresh like he did with Evita last year.

Neither was The Sound Of Music!

I think they'd be better off doing casting for something that can tour the country next year. Give the provincial audience a chance to go see the person they're voting for.

There's been on-off rumours about a tour of Our House, the Madness Musical, for some time. It did reasonably well in London a few years ago, was on for nine months or so if I remember rightly. But it has two young leads and a ton of popular hits. If they did a television series to find the two leads for that I think it could make the tour a huge success.

Or you've got stuff like Aspects Of Love which is Lloyd Webber and popular with AmDram groups but I don't THINK there's been any pro versions of it around for a while.

Tell that to the ITV team that keep on commissioning X Factor / Britain's Got Talent / etc etc!

You'd think they would have run out of Brits willing to be ritually humiliated, but apparently not!

Evita. You could do it for the male or female lead and I don't mean the best Jimmy Nail.

but on x factor its just a singer they are picking, or band etc. think if they do too many of these shows it could screw up good musicals if the wrong people win - luckily, so far the right people have won.

Just closed in the West End about two weeks ago ... to make way for Joseph in fact! I don't think it will be back for several years.

I like musical theatre and if this is the type of fixed rubbish programme that they will use in future I'd rather they left it well alone.

We don't want musical theatre ruined by the corruption that this show has done.

TV, LEAVE THEATRE ALONE! WE DON'T WANT RINGERS WE WANT GENUINE TALENT AND FAIRLY WON.

So done of what we've had over the past few Saturday nights.

We don't want TV killing musical theatre like they have Big Brother just for a fast buck to get one of ALW's ringers in the show anyway.

I know what you mean but I don't mind if it fills theatres and gets people interested in seeing these and then subsequently other shows.

ITV with their classless mickey mouse imitations can bugger off though.

In my honest opinion and I am a true theatre goer, I think that Lee is a true find and will be performing for many years to come on his own merit.

Thank you for actually reading my post (Seriously I mean it, the amount of cliché rubbish I have seen on here tonight has been amazing)

But to answer what you posed, I think this quick fix TV type show will only attract screaming Lee fan types who after about 6 months will be saying Lee who?

It's X factor trying to fill quality showbiz.

In the end all you will get is 5000 shows that last 2 weeks each.

I don't see this as a good thing, It could be if it was done correctly, but not like this.
