Until the understudy is on as in the sound of music, due to whatever reason.

There is no guarantee anyone is going to see LEE on a specific night.

With a bit of patience and searching just brought 2 tickets for 29th Oct in the stalls which according to the ever reliable theatremonkey are in the best block in the house.

They strongly advise that you go for rows F to M in the middle (somewhere between seats 11 and 25 ish). And they say to avoid the whole dress circle (or at least be wary of it) because the rake angle is poor and leg room is noticeably cramped.

God yes - I saw Evita at the same theatre recently, and while we were in good seats, during the interval I got talking to some people from the dress circle who said the view was awful (had to really hunch forward in your seat to see anything) and they all had leg cramp! So, yeah, avoid the dress circle. No matter how cheap they are!

I've only sat in the dress circle once (for Miss Saigon, I think) and NEVER AGAIN! My knees and neck were aching by the end!

Miss Saigon was at Drury Lane Theatre Royale wasn't it?

Joseph is at the Adelphi, I agree with most posters though, the Dress Circle there sucks, the trouble is it has a funny rake to it so people in the front rows often lean forward and that blocks the view of the people behind. The dress circle is also quite far from the stage.

I'm in the front stalls, the only place to sit at the Adelphi!

Have a look here to see where the recommended seats are.

I saw it on a touring cast - in a theatre in Manchester. Steepest flight of stairs I've ever climbed, and every time I leaned forward in my seat I felt like I was going to fall! Great show though

I sat in the front stalls at the Adelphi, great view. Everyone in the dress circle looked rather peeved coming out!

(Theatre Royal Drury Lane is my favourite theatre ever. It's just gorgeous. Especially with all the ivy and stuff they have at the moment for LotR)

My favourite large theatre too. And does indeed look fabulous inside at the moment. Shame the show sucks so badly!

Ah, I rather liked it. Not as a musical; but as a SHOW it was really enjoyable. Though they should have cut a lot more. But we were lucky to get a night where nothing went wrong, as I believe there's been cases of thirty minute breaks because things have broken down!

Damn that revolving/lifting/spinning/sinking stage! I said it looked bloody scary when we saw it - and was proved right!
