Got to love all the ads describing 6 July tickets as "first night", hoping to command a premium price. Yeah it might well be the first public performance but the first few weeks are "previews" for a good reason, stuff goes wrong or gets edited out for being boring. 17 July is the correct "first night" or "opening night".

I wouldn't touch first-few-weeks tickets off ebay at all anyway - it's not at all unknown for the first couple of weeks of a new show to get cancelled altogether and the "opening night" to get pushed back, if the set machinery or performers are deemed not ready. And you'll have a hell of a job getting refunds or replacements from someone on ebay.

I have just bought 2 tickets in Row K of the stalls for the matinee on 3rd October from the Adelphi's own website.

By the way, Ticketmaster is saying that Lee will be on holiday from 10th Septmeber for a week.

Does anyone know what the boxes are like at the Adelphi? I have tickets for a box on a Saturday matinee in September-thought (rightly by the sounds of it) that a box would be better for my children than being at the back of the circle. Was I right?

Au contraire. I have tickets for the very first night. If he isn't there then, then he never will be!

(I was worried that I wouldn't get to see Lee and this was the only way I thought it would be GUARANTEED to be a Lee show.)

Don't know about the Adelphi, but generally with boxes you have to lean forward to see as much as possible, and normally you won't be able to see the far edge of the stage on the side you are sitting. Some theatres sell boxes as restricted view.

Best bet is to check to see what theatremonkey says about the specific seats you have booked.

How can Lee be boring?

Connie said the very first night was just totally fabulous - the audience really cheered her on and it's stuck in her memory ever since. You can't beat your first time!

You get a diff sort of audience - more of a TV one for the first night and they're more 'into it' than a regular MT audience.

Unfortunatey there are no guarantees. He could break his leg in rehearsals.

Selling my tickets??? Quite the opposite: As soon as it was announced Lee had won, I was on the phone to the box office. And, judging by the length of time I was on hold and the slowness of the ticket website, a lot of other people had the same idea. I'm now concerned, though, as my seat is coloured red on the theatremonkey website.

Most seats in the Adelphi are coloured red, it has a high proportion of "bad" seating, unlike some other theatres.

Thanks for that link - really handy (in future!) Seems I did well with my Joseph tickets - middle of row B (white) but my Grease ones are 'red'. Still mid-stalls though so should hopefully be ok.

That's the difference between booking tickets in the early stages of the live shows of ADWD compared with waiting until after the final of Grease. The standard of the final 12 Josephs was so very high that although I had my faves (Ben and Keith) I knew that whoever won would be worth seeing. Whereas with Grease, I only wanted to see Susan & Danny so took the risk of waiting before buyig tickets.

Getting Joseph tickets was my priority, so Grease is a nice bonus

My friend got our tickets from the Adelphi's own website. For sometime in the Week starting September 10th.

How accurate is ticket master about these things?

I've seen the same week listed on a couple of sites so I'd say it's pretty accurate.

I took a group of children to see Joseph there and I was pretty damn scared!

Alot of Friday and Saturday nights are sold out in October, maybe it's the same for November too?(This is according to Ticketmaster).

I rang my friend to notify her of the whole "Lee taking a holiday when we go to see it" charade, and she is talking to a few other people, before reaccessing the situation, I think. TBH, I don't really think there's alot we can do. It would be nice to have seen Lee in the role though
