"Any Dream Will Do" DVD - Lets Work Together
jaybs

Okay we have all had our favourites in ADWD and some debates have got a little heated - but I am sure something we can all agree on is to work together to get the BBC to release a DVD

Some have said they never do, but their is always a first time and they did with FAME ACCADEMY!

To be able to keep some amazing performances from some very talented *STARS* in UK West End Theatre is well worth it.

Any ideas??

I wish the BBC would release this and other stuff like Strictly Come Dancing, why don't they? I'm sure they'd sell well.

Nice idea, I'm sure it wouldn't cost too much to put a montage dvd together and maybe GN voicing it over.

I did a montage of SCD but I haven't recorded any of ADWD!

i'd love to see a DVD coming out...but i doubt they'll bring one. I'd also love to see a CD with songs from all the boys - or at least the top 5 - i think they'll only bring out one by Lee.

I've also been trawling amazon to see if theres any sort of book that would even have a few stills in it. I'm desperate for ADWD merchandise!!

Yep a CD is a great idea! I've been looking for downloads of various performances and can't find any (probably cos its the BBC?). Its a wonder they don't do it because it would be more money for them.

Same with the DVD I know they did one for Fame Academy but that was what 6 years ago - they probably won't do that now I've made my own DVD's from the last few shows but I wasn't addicted at first and don't remember the first couple of weeks so I'd love to see them again.

Maybe start an online petition? Probably won't work but its just an idea

Us fanatics on the SCD thread have been asking this for years and not once have they taken a blind bit of notice

We can only TRY - I think ADWD is similar to Fame Academy and they will see more sales than last years Maria.

There may be an issue with music rights - yes they may have been permission to use a song on the Sat night but that doesn't mean they've been allowed to bung it on a dvd and sell it.

It may simply be too costly to get the rights.

I love the group performance to 'Do you love me' from Dirty Dancing and although it's on youtube (I've watched it loads of times), I'd love it on dvd to get a proper look ... I recorded Grease is the Word that week instead... my own fault I know

I agree it could be to do with the cost of the rights why they dont release a DVD but it would be great.

For heaven's sake, we're talking the BBC here...surely it is not beyond them to use their clout to get the song rights to produce a dvd we all want....preferrably of the whole series!!
However the BBC operate a very bizarre way of marketing their best stuff! I've been trying to get Joan Hickson Miss Marple set for years and only found complete full novel based episode collection at £99 recently in small, independent bookshop in London!! Yet ITV's bloody awful Geraldine McEwan versions are everywhere..sheer sacrilege! Typical BBC to disdain commercial success, eh?!
But I agree, let's bombard them with demand of ADWD on dvd!!

Yeah, they did Fame Academy for goodness sakes

Erm, they're being very cagey about these sorts of things at the moment. There was already a big debate at senior BBC level, involving OFCOM and the BBC Trust etc, about whether Any Dream Will Do was 'too commercial' for the BBC to be doing, because it was advertising a commercial product.

What rubbish!! Who else could have done this show with the quality and professionalism? We've all seen ITV's efforts

I sent a comment to them via ADWD website a few days ago. Maybe they might notice if they get a lot of requests. I won't be holding my breath though
