Josh - Simon told Josh that he doesn't deserve to be in the competition anymore.

Clay - Everyone loved Clay last night. His voice on the song "Solitaire" was amazing. Simon told Clay that he never knew what his first song "Build Me Up Buttercup" meant. Clay said he had no idea because it's a British song. Everyone, including Simon, cracked up at that.

Ruben - Everyone liked Ruben, but he wasn't as good as Clay last night.

Kim L - The judges weren't impressed with her first song, but they loved her second song. Very nice, the second one.

Trenyce - I liked her Tina Turner outfit for her first song, but the second song was a much better fit for her voice. She got good remarks from all the judges.

listened to clays songs on that website he has an amazing voice and just gets better each week ,listened to one of joshs song it was a good version of glen campbells song ,but these judges are not into any form of country music.

I thought the show last night was good. My favorite performances were both Kim and Trenyce's Sedaka songs. Great performances by both. I enjoyed Josh's first song, but I noticed that I like him so much more when I don't look at him. He makes the silliest faces.

My guess for the bottom three is Josh, Trenyce, and Ruben. I think Josh is heading home tonight (one can hope).

Cant you and jms hit the redial button for the whole 2 hours Jess. To think Josh wasn't even in the bottom two! What does it take to get him out?

I completely agree with Hazywoman's comments. Last night was a shocker, though. I couldn't believe that Josh wasn't even in the bottom two. I think Simon telling Josh that he shouldn't be in the competition anymore may have pissed some people off, so they put in extra votes for him.

There isn't a bottom three anymore, just a bottom two from now on. Clay is now the only one who hasn't been in the bottom two or three, and I hope it stays that way. The same thing happened with Kelly Clarkson last year, and she won the competition. I would love to see Clay win this whole thing because he would be a great adult contemporary artist. If he puts a ballad out, I'm sure it will hit #1. The funny thing is that little girls love him too. They have coined so many different "Clay phrases" that it's funny. One example is, "I'm a Clayniac!" They are all over the web saying things like that.

I've heard that it will be Bee Gees songs next week, but nothing can be confirmed until next week. That will be fun!

One more thing...the runner-up from last year's show was on last night singing the first single from his upcoming album. You probably won't get to see it in the UK since they edit those things out for British TV. Weird. Anyway, the guy has an ego the size of Texas, and it drives me nuts. Last season's winner of American Idol had the #1 album last week, but she still hasn't put out a video for her first single yet. Can you imagine? Madonna's album bumped her down to #3 this week, so she's still selling albums without much radio airplay or a video on MTV. That's pretty wild.

lol, jms. I couldn't wait for Justin to get off the stage. You Brits are lucky they'll probably cut him out of the show.

I am so sad that Trenyce is gone. I thought she had one of her best nights and what happens? She gets kicked off. Poor Josh knows he doesn't belong and that it's crazy he got more votes than Ruben. Well, now Ruben's fans know that he isn't safe. Hey, tally I would vote for two hours straight, but it's a trial with my roommate's phone. In two weeks when I'm back in Houston I'll have a better phone to use and I will be crazy voting!

the votes here would be probably different as we like different tastes to the americans(married to 1), im one of the minority that likes country music(not the old stuff), and if it was in uk simon would have criticized reuben for his weight(which would be wrong) which is what pete waterman did here,i think some people with trenyce remember she had a felony charge but was allowed to stay on ,but corey was kicked off .since that time she has started to be put in the bottom 3 more often.

Quite likely they'll have Justin on in the UK actually coz the results show is 50 minutes long - should only be that instead of an hour because we have less adverts. When Kelly came on for her 2nd week they'd cut the 30 minute show to 20 minutes

I was very surprised that Ruben was in the bottom 2- josh gracen should have definately been there but i feel vindicated that trenyce has gone as I never liked her.

after watching it on tv ,as simon says its subjective,when it gets to the bottom 5,its not to do with josh being a marine,alot of people in the us like country ,josh is good at that ,simon doesnt like the genre ,reubens first song imho was awful liked his second version of breaking up is hard to do. clay is streets ahead of everyone else ,would buy his cds and would pay to see him in concert ,he is a great entertainer, the sad thing as someone from the uk clay is streets ahead of will and gareth but i suppose it is a lot bigger country.

I certainly wouldn't agree that Clay is better than Will Young! But I did think he was really good actually with Solitaire..... Ruben I thought gave his two weakest performances and personally I'd rank him 4th out of 5 that night.... but come on, Josh ought to have been 5th. Trenyce was terrific!

It'll be nice to see Clay and Kimberley in the final though. I like Ruben as a person, and he does have a good voice but it doesn't interest me much

oh and I find the show incredibly tedious without VTs before the performances - in Pop Idol we got to see what the contestants had been doing in the week before every song, it breaks it up a bit! That was what I didn't like about Popstars The Rivals

Agreed, but I think Ruben lacks charisma and Josh is weak. He's no Garth Brooks is he? I'm more and more impressed with Kim, even though I want Clay to win. Driving along listening to the downloads I've got just make you appreciate the quality of his voice.

From here in, Clay or Reuben will probably win it . Clay is ok pop, but I can't see him being big outside the US.Reuben will probably sell in the US , but in few other places!

Kim is ok, but doesn't have the looks or really brilliant voice to beat what's already out there imho!

umm a country of over 250 million ,clay doesnt need to be big outside the us,i think he will , mine and acers music taste are a lot different maybe its because im 40 lol,but clay imho is way better than will, will could not have sung those songs to the standard clay did, sorry but i thought trenyce deserved to go she shouts alot , but to josh again his first version(never heard of casinos version) but it was very similar to glen campbells version. but everyone likes different tastes,and at the end of the day the votes coming in are over 21 million.

cooldood37 - did you see Pop Idol Don't diss Will, he's more original than Clay who just sounds like ANY stage show singer.

watched the whole series of pop idol ,prefered gareth gates to will ,in the us will performed on one of the idol shows ,most people in the states who i talked to thought he was very second rate, which is my opinion of will,

These people may do well in the US, I'm not the best judge!

Whether this earns them widespread fortune remains to be seen!

But I'd hazard a guess that none of them will outdo the first year sales from the tiny canadian 18 year old kid Avril Lavigne with 11 million and fast rising album sales worldwide!

my view

Clay is broadway pure and simple the way he looks and moves on stage all point to that. I would watch him in a show but dont think I would buy his records.
Ruben I feel has a great sensual quality to his voice and his size is not a problem in the market he will appeal to...
Clay and Ruben played safe most of the time and not sure how versatile they are.....
I liked Trenyce I think she took chances and aimed high was not afraid to do difficult songs.. looks great but could put on a few pounds but changing style makes her interesting. I think she could be a success with the right material. I also think Simon has knocked her unfairly.
Kimberly Loche has a great voice too and she looks better now with straight hair and a few less pounds. Not as good stage presence as Trenyce but slightly stronger voice. Girl next door look..........
Josh I think has a decent voice but needs to find the right sound for his voice. I actually dont think he is at his best singing all out country music. I think he sounded much better singing a verse in the group song during the results show. Still a possible winner in my view.... but must improve alot !!!

Finally from the Pop Idol I think Will Young and possibly Darius could have done pretty well in the American show.

I would have liked Paula Abdul to state on every show who should be evicted. She constantly fails to be objective.

Anyway, abiility does not come into it. Expect the marine to win.
