And how! The boys kicked off the European leg of their Turn It On Again tour with a storming gig in Helsinki!

Roll on Twickenham July 8th!

I'm seeing them at Old Trafford - does anyone know who's supporting them?

No support act - are they going to play for a long time then? It would be a long drive just for an hour or so.....

between 2 hours 30 and 2 hours 45 including encore according to people who have been to the production rehearsal in brussels and the first gig in helsinki .

thanks for all the info

In terms of the time Genesis will actually play, it's very good - quite a bit longer than most bands, but with an expensive stadium gig I'd still expect a couple of support bands.... I was hoping for a reasonably big name as main support as well - I'm a bit disappointed

i post a lot on the genesis-music.com forums, and a lot of us are going to be watching Genesis open the Live Earth gig beforehand(we are hoping that the bbc will be showing the concert on the big screen in exchange square, manchester ) so that could be why getting support acts would be a nightmare,a lot of reasonably big names are on the line up of that concert.

Now that would be Genesis back! Instead we have a average pop group wandering around on tour.

... and therefore let's leave the possibility, however unlikely, to boost ticket sales because people will go just in case!

Any sign of a new album, or am I just hoping for too much...?

well in interviews they havent ruled it out,so its neither a yes or a no,i would reckon they would want to get the european and North america selection of shows(cough tour cough) out of the way before deciding on what the future brings.

so there may be hope yet.

hhmm at the price of tickets I would expect at least one support act.

Bit of a rip off if it's just Genesis for 2 hours 30 mins and nothing else.

Still got my tickets for OT and will be there. for those interested the set list is on NME - http://www.nme.com/news/genesis/28959

Thanks for the link, bluezman

I feel a bit cheated about no support too. We've got a long drive for just 2 and a half hours....

2 1/2 hours of the original lineup would be worth it surely ?

I have tickets for Old Trafford. Does anyone know what time the gates will open ? I think I read 7pm somewhere but would like to know the start end time so I can arrange transport.

I have read that Peter Gabriel was amenable to playing a small number of shows but would not commit to a long tour.

I don't want to put the cat among the pigeons so I hope I can offer an opinion without it appearing too judgmental or upsetting anyone. For me, Peter Gabriel's music has moved light years away, above and beyond Genesis. I'm sure they enjoy greater commercial success etc., but there you have it.
