Hi

Is it possible to use delivery reports on text messaging on o2?

To get delivery reports on O2 type *0# at the begining of your messages. Also switch off delivery reports in your phones settings.

Is that before the number or in the message text?

Does it not work if you just switch the setting as On via your mobile settings?

You put it in your text message. Example:

*0#Hello how are you?

O2 don't support phase 2 delivery reports so you have to do that to all your text messages.

I emailed them ages ago (Jan 02 i think but maybe August 01) and they sent a reply saying they don't support delivery reports and that they were unlikely to in the near future.

Does anyone know why they don't?

Its a feature i've missed since moving from One2one.

Probably the cost invloved in upgrading hardware/software plus delivery reports take up more network capacity. Not much in it for O2 then!

this is interesting, cause delivery reports work on my fone, and im on o2, but as for the network, there is plenty of space as there are roughly about 50,000,000 text messeges going through the o2 network each day, and that isnt even a fraction of what its capacity holds, and im sure if they wanted it, the cost wouldnt break the o2 bank balance.
so as i work for o2, i can tell you that reports do work on the o2 network!!!, either that, or my fone is one of a kind!!!!

They didn't work through options on my 7210 or 3650.

My last phone was a 3310 and you could switch delivery reports on via text message settings or something.
