no 1 - branson has done it already
no 2 - the way the us show especially operates , alan would need a huge amount of business interest in the states and although i'm sure he has some, i doubt it's anywhere near enough btw the CPC6128 was considered one of the best home computers on the market - BUT it had shite software support so was never as popular as the spectrum / commodore / amiga |

I have to say that when i saw the first series, i had no idea of who Sir Alan was, my dad only knew because of Football
And we have had sky for 14 years, including a Sky Analogue Amstrad box, and never realised the link, and to be honest, who is interested who runs the company of a product you have in your house! i mean i dont know who owns Hotpoint, just because i have one of there fridges!, and to be honest, who cares!, as long as it works! But i think he was very popular and well known in the Computer & Electronics market years before the apprentice, i just suppose its who you talk to, what you do for a living, and what you read i suppose, just general knowledge. Richard Branson would be ok, hes not really an "Office" nasty, "Suit Wearing" type person, he would rather be on a water raft breaking a record than be in a board room, so im not sure he would be right for this program. I think someone like Peter Jones might be good, he ses what he thinks, he has a huge empire, but he isnt "Worth" as much as Sir Alan, but he does have alot of businesses, so its a possibility. This really sounds like a bogus rumor. There's no interest from anyone in the States to see any version of The Apprentice produced in the U.S. again. Trump has killed the franchise. Even before the last final horrible version of it he did.
The total failure of the Martha Stewart version also shows that even putting Trump aside likely won't help. Not that a similar show can't work. It's the branding that's damaged. If it played on the U.S. version of Bravo and called itself "Top Executive" (U.S. Bravo has several successful reality shows with the "Top" naming convention), it might fly. But lord knows who Bravo would use as the judges (with the Bravo formula, there'd likely be three of them--not one). |
