Good price, where did you get it from?

The new LX70 is supposedly a little better in that it has 100Hz processing to make less blurring on fast moving objects but you'd be paying over £700 for that model.

I'd say that if you're happy with the pictures don't worry what anyone else says!

I've been trying to get this particular model as i like the size & appearence of this tv & Panasonic seem to be reasonably good from what ive read but it seems it has been discontinued, however ive been on a few websites where they still have them in stock so i'm going to try find one this weekend & maybe buy it, subject to price & availibility. I do prefer the silver & black to the all black version & the newer 70 model only comes in black as far as i know.

One other thing, will it be more difficult to get parts for it if it is a discontinued model or not?

Not really but remember that LCDs are VERY expensive to repair if anything goes wrong and generally get scrapped.

are you inferring that plasmas are not expensive to repair, and dont get scrapped?

Not at all, i'm inferring that LCDs (in this case, along with Plasma) aren't repairable in the same way as a CRT.

No one mentioned Plasma in here before you?

Generally Plasma are MORE expensive to repair, and less reliable, than LCD - but neither are cheap for repairs.

So far I've put two Plasma's in the dustbin lorry, and no LCD's - but that's only because I'm keeping the LCD's for spares!

Incidently - for a Sharp LCD costing say £599 - it will cost about £1100 to replace the LCD screen!. This is particularly excessive though!, generally to replace an LCD or Plasma screen costs about the same as it cost to buy the set originally - if the panel is even available anymore?, many Plasma panels are obselete and no longer available, and probably the older LCD's are as well?.

Anything over a couple of years old, then no, not usually.

any luck connecting this from a PC using DVI?

I am having trouble getting one to work at its default resolution.

Just for reference:

The 100Hz process does genuinely make a difference on sports (I've seen both models side by side), and you can get the LXD70 for 600 now.
