With the online O2 PAYG tarriff it says you have to top it up by £10 every month.

Can someone tell me what happens if you do not top it up?
I dont want to top it up but I'll only need it for incoming text messages ( i wont need to call or text out from the phone ever)

Thanks in advance

Matt

after 3 months (I believe) they cut you off totally - the contract is to pay a minimum of £10 a month

If you don't make or recive a call every 180 days you *could* get cut off.

If you don't top up though, you just lose your allowance of texts/wap until you top up again.

I used O2 PAYG as a back up phone. I had £30 credit on the phone but hadn't topped up for 3 months and was disconnected. They say they won't refund the £30 credit. I was on the Genie tariff (which became O2) and I am sure that it said something about if you didn't top up you'd still be connected, you'd just lose the free text and wap allowance. Perhaps I am wrong.

so basically you're asking to use the o2 network to receive calls and texts for free !!

somehow i don't think it's gonna happen !!

i work for o2 customer services, and i didnt know that, its amazing what you dont know about the mean rip off pps you work for, that is one of the most mean ideas ever, you should get your money back if your disconnected.

I can confirm that without registering the sim card you can recieve calls and receive texts - which is great news for me because I only want incoming texts on the phone.

Thanks for your thought guys

Matt
