I'm confused, some postings say that both worked for SAS but he was clear tonight by saying that the rules were there was only one job!

Any ideas?

Apparently, Kristina and Simon have both been working for SAS since the series ended, in a part time role. Im assuming that now Kristina has left the company, and Simon has moved into his actual job.

EDIT:
I need to read the OP better, i dont think this is what people wanted to know

Both of the finalists had to work for SAS for a trial period ie. since the filming of the rest of the series finished up until the final task (which was filmed more recently). I believe that is about six months.

I'm sure SAS took this into account as much as, if not more than, the tasks on the show.

I do think he should offer Kristina a job too though.

There was only one job relative to the programme. He did say that if she ever went to him for a job she would be hired, so he may have taken her on after it was all over.

It makes sense for there to be a 'rule' that SAS cannot employ the runner up, because if he did that it would become an established pattern and no-one would care very much who won the final. Everyone would just assume that 'yeah, the runner up will get a job as well'

I was sad to see kristina lose out but Simon was the better choice for real estate type projects

According to the interview given by Simona and Krsitina on the radio this morning, Simon is working on the property side for Sir Alan, and Christina said she was in 'negotiations' with him regarding a job on the computing side.

she had all the skills and attributes for the role Sir Al' had but, I think Simon was more deserving, he said himself that he wasn't complete yet, but he was prepared to learn, and an apprentice is about learning a new role and learning about yourself!

well done to Simon!

Thanks- I realised that they had both been working for him prior to the hiring but I had a feeling that he probably wouldn't let her go so easily. Good for both of them. They deserve it.

Why not? He's only employing one 'apprentice'. If he wants the runner-up for a more senior position surely that's up to him.
The runner-up in another series may not be suitable anyway.
