OK, i may be having a silly moment here, but was it actually revealed who won the final task?

I assumed that the winning bid would see that building being built.

Or did Simon just win it, by being crowned the Apprentice?

To be honest I don't think we were told who won the final task. However, SAS did say that Simon held the room and gave a very impressive performance. They also showed an additional clip of him handling a difficult question very well. So, I'm guessing that he won the task. From what we saw it did seem very close but, from what he said I don't think it was.

Did you really think that there was going to be a building?

They both work for him for three months and he makes his decision on feedback from his staff. In the previous series the contestants who "won" the final task actually came second.

I don't think so.

Kristina obviously won it.The posh blokes "coc.k" shaped building just didnt maximise the available space.Every one of the invited guests would have given it to her.

The programme was most certainly a con on the viewers.

Did you not hear Suralan say that no actual building will be built. It takes at least 5 years to clear the planning process. It was all just a theoretical exercise

I think Sir Alan is very shrewd - he probably realises that a property crash is on its way. No way he is going to spend hundreds of millions on building loads of new build apartments and office accommodation.

But didn't SA say he's moving more into real estate, and isn't Simon's new job working on the new development near Stansted?

Exactly - he doesn't appear to be focusing on central London! Stansted airport is going to expand massively so that's a safer bet.

Sir Alan said that Simon held the room better and quite a lot of the guests he had spoken to had preferred Simon's presentation.

I think this LINK says otherwise.

LOL , those reasons are so typical of SAS's decisions, "I felt he had the most potential". Yeah....didn't you say the same for Michelle? At least admit that you just wanted him, instead of making up reasons like that for it!

Thats not quite true, I've mentioned in another thread that an architect friend was at the presentation evening. Their view was that Kristina's building was not actually a feasible build, and would have been virtually unsellable due to the lack of natural light to most of the 'units'. Simon on the other hand produced a building that was plausible, and his presentation was far superior. He held the floor for 45 mins answering tough questions with aplomb. We just didn't get to see that as I guess they wanted to build the tension with the editing.

I thought it was pretty obvious that the winner of the final task becomes the apprentice.

Where do you get this information from? Cos it ain't what was said on the show or on 'You're Hired'.

SAS' quotes about Kristina are incredibly patronising. I would be livid if I were her as she was obviously conned. SAS had obviously made up his mind about Simon a couple of weeks ago.

Kristina's been offered a job by SAS but is debating whether to take it.

Good for her. She went to win it. SAS chose the wrong person
