When Simon won i jumped into the air. A lot of people on DS seem to think Kristina was robbed. Try taking her raising her son alone and personal life out of the picture and also forget Simon is a posh boy trying to prove to his Father he can be a success.
They both have their trials to overcome.
Simon was enthusiastic, he made people want to listen, he is fiercely intelligent to a level i cant comprehend. His IQ is massive, he is lovable and funny and artistic and creative. He is Apprentice material. The job wasn't to find the Best Sales manager. SAS knew the job in mind for the Appretice and chose accordingly. Too much emphasis gets put on hard sales and the public therefore think the best sales person should win when the job isnt just about sales and managing a team its much more than that. Simon suited the role better and I think we should be happy for Simon in the knowledge Kristina will be a success in whatever she does in the future. WELL DONE SIMON!!!

You cant say "well he said he wanted the finished article months ago so he is wrong" Maybe Simon is just what he wanted after all was said and done. I thought that some of the mistakes he made in the tasks made his winning a travesty. I think this "not the finished article" stuff is a euphemism for profoundly untalented businesswise.

Simon had an extrovert personality and enjoyed performing. I reckon he'd be a lot happier in TV or theatre rather than in business.

I agree with you. His (lack of) performance in the TV task was in a class of its own. Once he was kept on after that, it looked as if he was going to be hired. Why else keep him in?
Plainly, Sugar liked him. Was he swayed by his reported very high intelligence?

He does not strike me as an entrepreneurial/ business type either. He may be better off in the arts, as you say.

It will be interesting to watch how long he lasts and what sort of comments / PR are put out about his time with Sugar at the end of the year, assuming he stays for the year.

Simon winning was absolutely the right decision. SAS was looking for an Apprentice for the future. Kristina will end up OK but Simon was the one SAS could mold plus he's easy to be around.

Simon needs to be taught the basics which SAS said that he didn't want to do this year. That's why I'm annoyed as I feel a bit misled after watching for 12 weeks.

I'm glad Simon won as well. The show is called "The Apprentice" for a reason. Simon can be moulded into what SAS wants, whereas Kristina is the finished article. Simon deserved to win over Kristina - I know who I'd prefer to work for.

He may not be the finished article, but I feel ultimately he will reach a business level way above that of Kristina especially if she is (as people have claimed) the finsihed article already.

I think the nail in the coffin for Kristina was the presentations last night - she came across as charmless as ever, and even abrupt in her answers (sure I heard a pin drop at one stage), while Simon, as Sir Alan stated, had the room in his hand and once again his personality and vibrancy shone through.

Well then the show should be closed for anyone over 30. Since they're either not mouldable or an underachiever if they haven't achieved anything by then?(by SAS's opinion)

Anyway , it shows how much faith SAS has in Simon as he's given him a task to work in a team whereas Michelle and Tim were made responsible of a certain part of the company.

Well it seems Sir Alan has more faith in him than Kristina has he employed him and he didn't her.

Oh please. The "get over it" comment is so overused. And the majority seem to agree with me so I hardly think it's me as a single entity who believes that. And Sir Alan's "faith" is meaningless. He had more "faith" in Michelle than Ruth and it's pretty obvious who's come out on top.

I really wanted Simon to win (as sad as it seems I really still haven't forgiven Kristina for the way she exploited parents in the sweet task )but up to last nights task I really didn't think he had a cat in hell's chance as Sir Alan seems to prefer candidates from the school of hard knocks.

However choosing Rory was inspired as he really had the creative flair for this sort of task. Simon also came over much better in the presentations. When I saw Sir Alan's expresssion afer each of the presentations I just knew that Simon had pulled it out of the bag - he seemed genuinely impressed with Simon's pitch and indifferent towards Kristina's.

To move business forward you don't just need to be a super sales person. You need flair and ideas and I just didn't see that with Kristina.

Never has the expression been so apt as in your case - so do get over it and whine about something else.

It doesn't matter if the whole world thinks Kristina should have won, she didn't as Sir Alan picked Simon.

.. though Kristina was my favourite going into the final, Simon deserved to win and I'm comfortable with that. Sugar was right - he needs to work on leadership skills, he is creative, and as he wants someone to be a presentable and likable face Simon fits the bill. Kristina, though highly competent, dedicated and mature just doesn't exude the charisma/charm that might help Sugar to achieve his goal of attracting the type of clients he is looking for to invest in his expanding property business. As he said, he is moving into property in a big way and as far as I know most of his wealth is no longer from manufacturing and sales, which might well have been up Kristina's street - perhaps a few years ago Sugar would have snapped her up.

My guess is, if Kristina's background matched Sugar's aspiration of reaching out to the type of clients he wants to sell to she would have won it hands down, but as it was Sugar swallowed his antipathy towards posh-types because he knows Simon has a better chance of charming the money out of peoples wallets. It seems Sugar is flexible enough to know that when it comes to making a profit, you have to put aside personal antipathy towards a certain class of people to reach a goal.

As for Katie, who came so close, I suggest that if she were less poisonous, less duplicitious and therefore more trustworthy, she might well have triumphed because she does have the charm and she is certainly highly competent.

So, in a nutshell, a shrewd and risky choice.

The good news for Kristina is that she won't be short of job offers.

Kristina will do well, but Simon was a good choice, my fave contestant this year by a mile.

I was very pleased that Simon won - I was convinced upto last nights programme that Kristina had it it the bag but after seeing Simon's presentation & SAS reaction to it thought he must stand a chance now & was very happ when SAS told Simon your hired

I'm glad that Simon won as well.

I may be biased because I "know" him and people that know Kristina may say the same thing about her but I worked at the same bank as him (for about two years until he was made redundant) and he has a lot more to offer beyond what was seen on the programme.

Strange choice.Think Sugar may have been enjoting the thrill of taking a risk rather than a safe choice.

Lets face it in the final task Simon wanted a ship,Rory fought hard for his design.Simon didn't go with Rory but rather the Architects reaction was so positive that that seemed to sway which design was worked on.

Rory was also responsible for the feel of the pitch.He came out really well from this.

The man management thing of sitting his team down also didn't come from Simon but from Jadine.

Perhaps most damning was Simons revelation that his plan was to be a village idiot-strange interview technique.

Was Sugar persuaded by having his ego massaged by Simon during the interview week??????????/
