Just wondered what you lot think of this?

You know, I think Toby Young might have been on to something here when he wrote about Katie Hopkins:

I'm becoming increasingly intrigued by Katie Hopkins, the contestant on The Apprentice who has emerged as a national hate figure. (See Richard Curtis's aside during his Bafta Fellowship speech.)
...
Option one is that she's just a freelance publicity-seeker. This was the verdict of Heat editor Mark Frith on The Apprentice after-show yesterday. According to this theory, she isn't aiming to win the show, but to attract as much attention to herself as possible in order to generate other job offers -- probably as a professional reality show contestant -- after she's been eliminated. A kind of upmarket version of Jade Goody.
...
Option two, then, is that she's a sponsored publicity-seeker, ie, she has the backing of some kind of media organisation which has helped her to organise her stunt. Additional evidence for this -- apart from my being impressed by the cut of her jib -- is that earlier this week she was papped having a romp with a married man. Now these pictures are so obviously staged that it's clear Katie's up to something -- and I'm not convinced a freelance publicity-seeker could have pulled this off.
...
Option three is that she's an undercover reporter writing a piece about sticking her nose in the D-list celebrity trough for The Guardian (or the Mail who, in spite of reporting on Katie's escapades in a typically disapproving way, may be simply trying to throw us off the scent). In this scenario, she'll publish a blockbuster piece to coincide with the broadcasting of the episode in which she's eliminated and then wait for the publishing offers to come flooding in. I would have thought she'd easily get an advance of £250,000 -- possibly as much as £500,000, depending on how good her article is. (More if it's in the Guardian than the Mail, but then the Mail will pay her much more for the story.) In any event, enough to put the £100,000 salary on offer from Alan Sugar in the shade.

Still not sure which is the correct option here but so far I'd say one, two and three all look like possibilities. The fame-hungry competitor may find a media career more tempting. Yesterday she pocketed £65,000 in newspaper and magazine fees for her exclusive story and she has received further media offers. Sir Alan’s refusal to allow Ms Hopkins, 31, time to consider was criticised.

As she also applied for Big Brother (and possibly other reality shows that we don't even know about) I would say Option One is the most likely.

I'm waiting to see if Katie appears on Britain's Got Talent claiming she has the skill of insulting down to a fine art and challenging Simon Cowell to a duel using only put downs as their weapons.

[That reminds me of an old Monty Python sketch]

I heard the whole thing was massively edited. Compare Tre's interview where he says that the boardroom is two hours long and SAS really loves to waffle!
I'd love to see what went on in the bit between where he says: 'Katie, you're in the final' and when he says somehting like, would you like to reconsider.

Do you think she cried? She did look a bit down

I thought Katie was great entertainment. It really annoys me that Tre can insult people and swear his way through the insults and people find him great, where as when Katie says an insult, all be it tongue in cheek ie Adam getting run over, she is labelled a backstabbing, evil bitch!

Tre's 'insults' were generally just expletives brought about, rightly or wrongly, by frustration and applied to anyone and everyone.
Katie's were evilly, and probably painstakingly, thought out and tailored to whichever individual had disagreed with her or was the biggest threat to her at the time.

Bascially, if they were murderers, Tre would commit a crime of passion. Katie's would be cold-bloodedly pre-meditated.

I was not a fan of Tre.

Katie chose to portray herself as a cold, calculating, I get what I want even if it means backstabbing someone to get it person. She tempered that with Katie the eye lowering, hair flicking flirtatious woman. Now she may not be anything like that in real life, but that was the character she chose to be Katie in the Apprentice.
Tre was petulant and swore and had hissy fits and went off in a sulk when he didn't get his own way but I'm sure he is exactly like that in real life.
I don't particularly like either character but with Katie it all seems so pre-meditated and pre-planned. I'm not sure she expected quite the amount of media attention she got but she is certainly not going to let it go to waste.
