......the preview of the final at the end of the penultimate episode showed Sir Alan saying "you're hired", while clearly looking to his right.

Which meant that as soon as Simon and Kristina came in (and sat down) for the final time we knew which one of them had won.

Absolutely no need for it and it ruined the last 10 minutes of the series.

I'm sure in the past they have trailed the next show with SirAlan's comments in which they had actually flopped the footage, so that when you saw the show the next week SirAlan was looking the other way when he said the words.

Since then I've never assumed anything when watching the trailers.

Well as they filmed 2 endings and the actual result was only known on Tuesday, it makes no difference whatsoever. Also wasn't Margaret sitting next to him in the trailer ? when she wasn't there when he announced the actual winner.

They dropped the overview shot of Simon and Kristina in the boardroom from the Tuesday repeat.

Obviously realised that it potentially gave away the result.

If they filmed two endings, why not use the other one in the trailer?

Simon and Kristina only found out themselves on Tuesday who had won so how could the BBC trailer department know in advance ? Purely co-incidental

What?

Why show it at all? What's the point?

Either way it's a distraction.

I was so relieved, i noticed this to at the end of last week, and then utterly forgot about it, so it was still a (terrible) suprise for me.
