Their first album was very good but the follow ups couldnt match it's success. I quite liked the last one they did 'Little Kix'.

From the official website:

The long-awaited announcement is simple: Mansun have called it a day. The band members came to the decision towards the end of March, agreeing that they each want to move on with their lives, and that the life of the group had come to an end.

A spokesman for the band confirmed that they have split up, saying that 'after nearly eight years together, they decided that Mansun had run its course and it is time to do other things'.

Speaking today to guitarist Dominic Chad about the break-up, he explained that there was 'nothing sinister behind it, it was completely amicable. We all just want to be able to do other things'. When questioned on what those things might be, he could only say that there was no definite information as yet.

Making sure to talk about the support that the band have had over the years, Chad was clear that they were truly grateful for their 'legions of fans who stuck with us through thick and thin. We are sorry for whatever disappointment this news may bring'.

Principal songwriter and lead singer of Mansun, Paul Draper, was unavailable for comment, away on an extended holiday with no specific date of return. Bassist Stove has embarked on a career of speedway racing, while drummer Andie Rathbone is bringing up his family at his farm near Chester.
