Tosh-37WLT68 or Samsung 37"
Hia,
I'm new here so hope it's OK to post for this kind of advice. I'm after a 37" LCD screen and have narrowed it down to either the Toshiba or a Samsung but I have a couple of questions. 1) How important is the frame rate as the tosh one is 100Hz and most others seem to be 50Hz. I understand it's something to do with screen refresh rates but is there a noticeable diference between 50\100 when watching it or using an xbox 360. 2) Most of the Samsung 37" screens seem to have 8000:01 contrast ratio while the Tosh only has 3500:01 I was wondering why this was but I have read on here in other threads that sometimes you can't directly compare this figure accross diferent manufacturers due to the diferent technolagy or measuring method, is this one of those occations? 3) The tosh seems to be about £150 more than the Samsung, is there anything in particular that makes it worth the extra? Thanks for any advice & sorry for all the questions on my first visit worto. |

The Toshiba is a much better TV, although it's an older model now. I'd recommend the 37X3030DB (1080p), awesome set, or there's the 37C3030DB which is the same but without the 1080p panel.
The Samsung contrast ratio is measured completely differently than Toshiba's, there's barely any difference between them. Oh, and that gloss black finish is a bugger to keep clean! |

Thanks,
I'll check out the diferences between the older and newer model. I thought I might be able to pick up the older model cheaper but that doesn't seem to be the case. The newer models all seem to be 50hz which is why I was looking at the older one origionally. I think I'm swaying towards the tosh at the mo. Thanks for the info, worto. |

Personally, like i said, i'd go for the 3030 series, either the C or X.
