DVD Connections
I have just purchased an RDR_HXD 560 DVD recorder. I also have a VTX_D800U digital receiver. Can these be connected to my TV in order that I can watch one digital channel whilst recording another? If so, HOW?

a) If 2 scarts then connect DVDR out ---> TV AV1 VTX out ---> TV AV2 b) If one TV scart then connect VTX TV out ---> DVDR in DVDR out ---> TV AV1 For b) to watch VTX the DVDR must be able to 'pass through' the external signal while recording - not all DVDRs can do this. Rgds, Scorp |

Since the DVD recorder appears to have it's own Freeview tuner there is an alternative scenario to the above.
VTX800 "TV" SCART --> TV AV1 SCART VTX800 "VCR" SCART --> DVD AV1 SCART Since you will not be recording the output of the VTX800 box it doesn't matter that much that it cannot send a high quality RGB video signal to the DVD. However I am fairly certain from when I last used one that it can pass RGB from the DVD to the TV. If I am correct then this set-up allows you to watch the VTX800 whether or not the DVD is recording, in standby, turned off or chucked out the window ![]() To watch DVDs simply play them and the VTX800 will pass on the DVD output to the TV. |
