Spoiler
With it mentioning that The Master is an orphan, I am assuming that he is either the Doctor's son or brother

And then there's this nonsense "I just made this up but I'll spoiler tag it just in case it's true". For f***'s sake!!! It AIN'T A SPOILER!!!

I'll occasionally fall into the same trap, just because I'm going with the flow of a thread, but I feel bad when I do.

Well, I hope that makes my feeling a little clearer. ”

I agree that made-up spoilers are annoying, but I see no need to be ultra-specific about the nature of proper spoilers. Why the blinking flip should any FM who wants to post bona fide spoilers have to be sensitive towards non-linear readers or people who just can't resist going straight to the juicy bits? It would be as pointless as the "WARNING: CONTAINS NUTS!" labels on packets of nuts.

I suppose that's my main point. They don't have to be sensitive to anyone as long as the spoiler isn't misrepresented.

If this thread had been titled "UTOPIA PLOT REVEALED (Spoilers)" then I would have no complaints at all, and there wouldn't even have been a need to put spoiler quotes around the text in question - although if the spoiler quotes weren't there we would have had even more complaints from people who read a spoiler thread not wanting to be spoiled! I've seen it before, hence my "patronising" statement earlier.
