The best service to date is from Vodafone PAYG. One person pays £5 and then adds three friends vodafone numbers and they can all chat together FOR FREE 24/7 60mins and call back. I pay £7 for 5 friends and so far I have made 15 hours of calls to my mates for just my £7. And my mates on it can call each other - and non of you need further credit to make these calls - Fantastic service from Vodafone

It's called Vodafone Family and is on the website

And not so fantastic if the majority of people you talk to are on other networks!

It would be best to wait until we find out what the new promotion is, before deciding what to do.
It's a bit disappointing that T-Mobile are doing this in dribs and drabs, though.

It all does seem to be more of a reason for medium to high use pay as you go mobile users to go on a low end/cheap pay monthly price plan.

I emailed T-Mobile asking if the free texts were ending. They emailed me back about evening and weekend calls of something so I replied saying "thats great but I'm asking about TEXTS" lol

Anyway I got this reply this morning. I'll just copy and paste the email:

Quote:
“Hello Ryan

Thanks for your further email about free evening and weekend texts.

I appreciate you've emailed me about this as it gives me an opportunity to help you.

I apologise as you were given the information about free evening and weekend calls.

I've checked your account and I can inform you that there is no end date for free evening and weekend texts.

Thanks again for emailing me Ryan, and I'm sure I've explained things clearly for you.

If you've any further queries, please feel free to email me and I'll be glad to help you.

Kind regards

I would keep hold of that email and if they take the texts away, they should compensate you because they have told you they wont!!

Ryan, your email reminds me of one I received from T-Mobile. I had been unable to register because the website was down and 150 had long queues. I emailed asking when it would be sorted. The reply said they were sorry about the problems and they could register me, but that I must include the password I had chosen when I registered!

This is privacy policy, if you can see, anyone could have emailed in saying that were you prking, the password should only be known by yourself, its the same as if you call in they ask for your password to verify its you, or they ask alternative security questions!

Dangermouse, don't be a numpty. If you read my post, i hadn't been able to register (because of technical problems) so didn't have a password to give them!

Sorry, it was meant as a gentle dig, not an insult.
As someone who works for T-Mobile, do you have any info about what the replacement promotion is, Talizman?

We don't get told anything until about 24 hours before you guys find out, just in case we leak the info to the other networks.

Can I get this right Please

T mobile are going to get rid of the free weekend and eve texts??

well when I joined t mobile for that offer they told me it will be for life so would it be that people allready on that offer will still get it for life as that is what us people where told when we joined t mobile or is it to stop for new people??

If so Im not happy at all as that was the only reason I joined T mobile.

I was told the promotion was for life also, so can they take this away from us? Surely even if they say verbally thats it for life, they are contractually and morally obliged too?? Can anyone from T-Mobile confirm or deny that this is actually going to happen?

Any hint yet as to what this 'brand new promotion' might be?

Also, can I just clarify that I understand correctly for the PAYG data rate - if I use ANY data I get charged £1 for that day?

No you get charged until you reach £1 worth of usage, thereafter for the rest of the day you pay no more than £1
