Combined TV/Monitor - Does this happen to you?

I use a flat panel 30" LCD TV with a VGA input as my monitor.

This way I can flip freely between TV and Computer display, using the Picture In Picture (PIP) facility.

I have noticed, however, something rather odd.

If I play Windows Solitaire on the computer and close it, I get a residue that stays there - a sort of ghostly shape of an outline of the Solitaire window - in faint purple.

Fine, that's on the monitor - it isn't burn in, which is permanent, because if I restart Windows the outline disappears.

However, if I switch to TV display before restarting the ghostly outline remains - until, as with the monitor display, I restart the computer!!

Does this, or anything similar happen to you?

I'm afraid that no-one else in the world is still playing Windows solitaire. Sorry.

Hi,

Have you tried turning the TV off and back on again? It could be something in the telly not clearing properly and holding a bit of the image.

Just a thnought.

Cheers

Sounds like poor screening of the inputs in the TV.

I wouldn't have thought there's a way around it.

What make and model is the TV?

Turning the TV off alone doesn't help.

I can only clear it by restarting the PC.

I'm somewhat resigned to it though, it's not the end of the world, there's probably nothing I can do about it.

Maybe screening magnets on the cables might help, but it's not something I'm going to chase up.
