Went to see Fun of the Fair last night with the family. Don't think there was a spare seat in the auditorium.
Its a very intense story, with clever scenery. The surround sound is fabulous and it was wonderful to hear all David Essex's songs sung in one musical.
It was brilliant to see Chris on stage again even though he is not in one of the leading roles, his presence on stage is very charismatic and fingers crossed he gets the chance as an understudy to play Levi (David Essex's character's) son at some stage or Jonny (another important central characteer) as it would be wonderful to hear Chris's fabulous singing voice again.
There was a standing ovation at the end and we wondered around to the stage door to hopefully meet Chris. There were a lot of David Essex fans waiting so we hoped we would get to see Chris come out and luckily he was out one of the first with his luggage.
Mazza and I called out to him and he came straight over and put his suitcases down. We explained who we were, but he seemed to know and said that he hadn't had a chance to log onto DS because he had been in very busy rehearsals for the past 5 weeks and hadn't had a chance. We got him to sign a picture of us with him at the Dream On concert and he asked if that was at the Palladium. He put a lovely message on it and then as our husband's were standing near by, they very kindly took some photos of us with Chris and he was more than gracious even though he looked tired to do this for us and was absolutely charming and lovely.
We mentioned that we would be coming to see him in the panto in December and he said he would see us there and it was nice to meet us and then bless him he went over and was helping the guys box up all the equipment in the van to go onto the next venue.
Chris, thank you so much for making our night very special and for spending time with us, it is so appreciated.
Hopefully you will the opportunity to come onto DS at some stage to let all the Crosby Kids know how the tour is going. We would all love that.
Good luck with everything.
Love and very best wishes,
