I thought it was all about surviving in the jungle with basic necessities. If it was anything different they would have been able to keep all the extra luxuries that they tried to smuggle in and have unlimited supplies of drink and cigs. ”

If you were out in the jungle/rainforest you would be looking for animals, vegetables, roots whatever to bump up your rations. Why won't the producers let them have a go?

I'm sure when AWT is a Tory MP he'll be very sympathetic to people moaning and demonstrating eh gazza ...In fact he may adopt the lowering a sausage to the unemloyed in a pit as a policy

Probably because it looks like they're in a 'clearing' in someone's back garden..not a lot of wild animals around... just the odd dog and cat

Guys... they're having fun. That's all. When you're bored.. you rebel... Or maybe you didn't do that at school. ”

No I didn't ...were you meant to I don't think they were 'having fun' I think they were genuinely annoyed and AWT made a total prat of himself. I liked him up until then. Let's face it, they aren't school kids, they are adults and celebrities at that with reputaions

I thought Tara was brilliant last night. She said that they shouldn't be moaning on about only having a cup of rice a day when some of the people they are raising money for would be lucky to have a cup a year.

I really went off AWT, the minute he shouted at the guy who commented about the rice I thought what a prat. The poor guy was just trying to explain (admittedly badly) he didn't need his head bitten off, he was probably embarrassed enough finding himself unwittingly in front of the camera. But chef's always do treat 'underlings' with contempt so I'm not surprised. I've just always found that level of arrogance really irritating - why I can't stand Ramsey.

Yes, would that be the same Tara who cried her eyes out for 1 week of the 2 she was in there last year? Despite the fact she's lived a life the people she was raising money for could only ever dream of living.

Fact is, coming from a place where you can eat what you want, when you want, to a place where you're not eating very much at all is hard to adapt to for anyone. Add to that, the fact you've got to get on with people you probably wouldn't give the time of day to in the real world, and at some point you've got to release some emotion. That's all it was.

I don't think them being celebrities really has anything to do with their behaviour, as I expect a lot "normal" people would have done the same thing.

Exactly... It was just a release of emotion, and great viewing. Imagine if the place was full of Toyahs and Sians... ”

Yes..it was great viewing. It also showed a particularly nasty side to Anthony, (he did apologise later on for his behaviour though).
I dont call swearing at the girl in the bush telegraph hut, and also ripping into the producers like a spoiled diva 'a bit of fun' though. fun for us maybe..(the '**** the calorific value' had a certain comedic element, especially Wayne, like the sidekick to the school bully, repeating everything Anthony said , but I dont think the lady in the BT hut found it particulary amusing..dunno )

The best comment I heard on the whole thing was from Tara on itv celeb now. She said, basically, its a charity event, its only 2 weeks at the most, the food they are given is a) perfectly adequte for survival and b) half the world has to exist EVERY day of thier lives on far less than that, so shut up, stop complaining about the food and do your time.

so..Yes..I agree it was great tv, but it showed how much most of us take for granted in our daily lives, and how , when we are removed from our creature comforts, and have to experience a tiny bit of what life is like for a LOT of people in the world we suddenly rebel at the unfairness of it all.

so AWT insulting behaviour is fine, but someone crying because of constant rows and arguments isnt?. Tara never complained once about the food rations,or the conditions which is the whole point of this discussion. She had an emotional reaction to other people in the camp, and I dont blame her at all, Id be in tears if I had to share a camp with Darren Day and the Hamiltons!

They had all been on a downer for most of the day, they just snapped. The quantity of food that arrived didn't make sense at all compared to the 2 meal win by Wayne (chicken).
I understood to be that the rationing was the beans and rice not the meals.

It's all very well For Tara to moan about them but I seem to remember they had treats such a pizza brought in for them.

It's an entertainment programme and Wozza has certainly provided it imo.

But... (1) those people haven't come from a completely different life, to that... and (2) if those people had a Production team right by them that had a truck load of food, they would have done something similar... And anyone who got in their way with their "calorific values" probably would have got eaten.

And again, on Tara... She almost had a bloody breakdown last year if I remember correctly.

No, Tara was complaining about them moaning about lack of food... This girl moaned about lack of cigarettes, lack of sex, lack of everything else no doubt, which wasn't shown, and burst into tears in nearly every episode because hey, she couldn't handle the others having an argument.

I would imagine Anthony was finding their patronising tone quite insulting himself.

but she didnt lead a rebellion or threaten to walk out because of lack of comforts!!. yes..of course people moan about the lack of comforts, they all do it, thats understandable, but you dont then lead everyone off and start insulting the production team in that way. thats just totally uncalled for and even AWT himself knew that and apologised for his behaviour.

however, I think we both agree it was great tv, even if we have different takes on it.

No, she went for a walk and got lost .

yes, it was nice, like it was nice when Tara apologised to Rhona that time, and Darren told her off for 'being friendly' with Rhona..

I really didnt like DD in that show, but loved Tara.

I suppose this forum would be very boring though if we all thought the same about them all.

To be honest, I didnt see this coming. I thought if there were any fights it would be between the campers. I never thought the fights would be between the campers and the production team!.

Ah ah ah!!!! Tara did make a break for it and collapsed gasping for a fag in the studio....she was guided back by security.

She begrudgingly spoke to Rhona...with intense bad grace and told the camera she was only doing it for peace and that she'd cross the road if she ever saw her coming (and would have kept that attitude if she hadn't fallen out with Darren and needed to reasess her allies)....

Yep - We all disagree
