The Official DS Festivals 2007 Thread
Well 02 Festival was amazing and a great performance from Daft Punk and Download was also quite enjoyable. Anyone off to the Leeds/Reading Festivals or Glastonbury?

I was at O2 Leeds on the Friday. I mainly hung out at the main stage. QOTSA were fantastic. Scouting For Girls were actually not bad, and I quite enjoyed Findlay Brown. The other five acts between Findlay and Queens I thought were pretty crap though.

I was at Leeds Wireless on Saturday, thankfully the weather held off after the sharp shower that greeted us on the way in.
All in all a good day. Polysics are utterly bonkers but fun, The Pigeons rocked even with a huge fluff up from Matt during I'm Not Sorry and a huge balls up by the organisers in their programmes with the times which meant that loads of people missed them, Editors were class as usual and the Kaisers were pretty good but marred by a complete pillock on Amyl Nitrites who decided to scale the rigging holding some of the speakers. The only reason I know what he was on was because he was boasting about it whilst watching the Editors. |

Off to Glastonbury in the morning. A bit worried about the weather forecasts, but I still managed to have a great time in '98 and '05 and it doesn't look like it's going to get quite that bad, just very wet.
Who's everyone looking forward to seeing? I'm really excited about finally seeing the Manics after all these years of really liking them but not getting round to seeing them live, Arctic Monkeys should be good, I'm really into CSS at the moment so it'll be great to see them followed by the Klaxons, and then I'm also looking forward to seeing the Rakes (who I've seen 4 or 5 times) in a festival setting for the first time. Of course one of the great things about Glastonbury is not planning everything out so you can explore and discover new things. I also really really want to see some comedy this year, every year I look in the programme and see loads of my favourite comedians on at the same time as bands I can't miss, but this year I'm not too fussed about the Saturday evening line-up so I'm hoping to catch Bill Bailey or Kevin Eldon if they're on that night (annoyingly they don't publish the proper day-by-day line-up for the cabaret in advance). |
