Absolutely the same with me - which is why i believe Brian has an excellent chance of having his Bez moment.

Morning one and all (had a lie-in cos no work for next 3 days) but like Sten, when I do work I have my pc logged into the forum all day. Big however though, got told yesterday that my firm is merging and so jobs may go - boo hoo (just had to get that off my chest but i dont feel any better for it )

Still, got a week in Spain coming up just after BB ends so life aint that bad after all.

Morning QPR

Victory for Brian would be all the sweeter if the twins were huge odds on favourites.

Sorry to hear your bad news - hopefully it won't affect you. A week in the sun should make things seem a lot better

why thanks for that viddy - and esp. thanks for helping us keep the BAT on the front page

but i'm too old to get another job and have been at my firm for donkey's years - they pay good wages but i've been told that redundancy is 3 months pay for EVERYONE - whether you've been there 2 years or 20. i was banking on working for 3 more years and then retire.

sorry to bore you lot with this but i cant get it out of my head and as you are all strangers ........ a bit like pouring out your life story to the person standing in the queue (the bus stop nutter) that's me alright

Are they legally allowed to do that? Seems grossly unfair to me - good luck to you QPR - hope you will be unaffected. (BTW - I'm a fellow bus stop nutter so you are in good company).

Regarding betting odds I too have been surprised at how far the sweet but vacuous twins are ahead because it does not feel that it is an accurate reflection of public opinion. I'm sure Stentionhouse is right when he says he thinks it is much closer in reality.

If you've been there a long time, you must be doing something right, so IMHO they're much more likely to keep you than give you the elbow.

Let's be honest, most of us on here are the bus stop nutter or we wouldn't be posting obsessively about a load of wannabes in a house on the telly

Hi all

So sorry to hear about the redundancy situation QPR.

Just to comment on what you said zeebra, the minimum figures are below, the offer which QPR's company propose is okay if you have less than 12 years service, if you have any more than that you're being conned.

Quote:
“ For each complete year of service, up to a maximum of 20, employees are entitled to:

for each year of service under 22 - half a week's pay

for each year of service at age 22 but under 41 - one week's pay

for each year of service at age 41 or over - one and a half weeks' pay.”

How many year's service do you have QPR, because your organisation is legally obliged to pay you the minimum quoted above.

That doesn't look like much, even so. It's all take an very little give with most employers.

UK Statutory redundance pay is piss poor. Two year's service equates to two week's redundancy pay, which is laughable. Most employers have quite generous packages which they offer on top of statutory pay, because they recognise how poor the minimum legal amount is. QPR's offer is much more beneficial to those who have short term service as opposed to those who have been employed for a many number of years.

Sorry to hear about your work problems, QPR. Hope everything turns out okay for you.

As regards Brian well.. Brian to win!!!!
I do like the twins and Jonty but Brian's the only current housemate who I've found most entertaining this year.

Sorry to hear about your work problems QPR. I know how it feels. You might be lucky and they might not push you out. I was made redudant, but retrained as I have a degree. How I wish I could go back to office work/adult world. Anyway, backing Brian all the way. Wouldn't vote for anyone else even if they were my 2nd favourite. Brian to win, Brian to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry to shout, I'll shout again, Brian to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really can't work out why so many people are putting money on the twins to win. I can't find any evidence away from the net of widespread support for them. So hopefully...Brian to win!

Nothing like a good bit of retail therapy to fire you up for the final Brian to win push over the next few days

Sorry QPR, just realised, that sounds really big headed, I just meant I re-trained after 15 job interviews and god knows how many job applications. The financial sector can be cruel to women. Best of luck and I hope you achieve what you want to.

I have had word from someone who has supplied me with info in the past that the current voting puts the twinnies ahead of Brian by 53/47 - not as big a gap as many Brian fans had feared. If that's accurate, it's going to be a good battle. Which, of course, I hope Brian wins

Afternoon all, sorry to hear this news QPR. Should the worst happen you will find that a lot of firms actually prefer to employ older people because of their knowledge and reliability. Good luck and have a hug ((((QPR))))
