If Brian doesn't win - I'll become a Spurs fan

Following the departure of Seany...Brian is my new fave.

Brian's a lovely bloke, someone who i'd like as a friend unlike yourself. Keep your hate and superiority complex for somewhere else, this is an appreciation thread.

Brian maybe facially challenged but he is funny and likable.

Charley and Brian are turning out to be real funny in the caravan task.

I've always liked Brian a lot, but the way he handled Charley during the live feed last night when she was whining about the caravan was brilliant. I like the guys attitude, he takes everything in his stride and makes the best of every situation. He's totally hilarious as well.

I really hope Brian genuinely didn't know who Shakespeare was. I love this bloke, absolute legend This is what BB housemates should be like, IMHO.

He was very funny tonight. Him and Charley together could turn out to be a good friendship.

I love Brian. He's so artless and well intentioned.

That's pretty much a perfect concise summary of him

Funniest moment of the series so far - Brian comes over all Frankie Howerd in the DR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmGTM5TLgH4

The bloke is a conman, who couldn't even muster enough respect for viewers to come up with an original 'character.'

That Shakespeare conversation saw him well and truly rumbled.

Likeable enough bloke for sure, but a conman nevertheless.

thanks for the link.

he's going to need a monumental amount of help to do it, but i really think he will walk out the house as the winner, in august.

I hope so. But none of my favourites have ever yet won any series of BB or CBB (Nichola, Penny, Sunita, the Tickle, Dan, Science, Aisleyne, Vanessa, Sue, McCririck, Maggot, Dirk).

to be fair, the last few days of opening this forum, and the "brian to win" thread has been visible, as has this "brian appreciation thread".

i have to be very very careful what i say about race and the voting public's preferences. there is a bias towards a default caucasian male winner, from a public voting pool that is largely caucasian and female. non-caucasian housemates will virtually always poll poorly at first, and must fight hard to win over the public, whereas the default prettiest caucasian girl/boy will always have a huge headstart on the field. (a david sneddon will beat a lemar in a public phone vote, but it is a lemar who will have a career for years with huge success, and sneddon who will disappear).

i see the support for Chiggy in the polls, but the huge polling that Laura briefly had has evaporated, and Chiggy's support is anything but solid. Ziggy needs to do something to avoid fading like Preston did, and Chanelle has to keep on her toes - one episode of nasty bitching could see the public turn against her.

as long as its the 'brian appreciation thread' kept near the top, then that's good enough for me (as long as its not my posts keeping it there ).

liam has gone sub 4/1, and his price is hilariously shocking (just my opinion, others disagree with me - fair enough). i would be amazed if we get another 'default' winner.

It won't be easy for Brian. He hasn't got looks on his side, to appeal to the teen girl voters. But I'm hoping his genuine personality, funny clumsiness and natural comedy value will get more people on side. He was second favourite to win for a short while, so hopefully that means more people are warming to him. I just hope he doesn't overdo the thick act (for an act it surely is, mostly).

I like Brian! If he's genuinely a bit dim, I like him because he shows concern. If he's playing it, I like him because he's funny with it. I watch for entertainment...he provides it!

*Unashamedly bumping this*

Needs bumping I'm amazed there isn't more support for Brian. He's exactly the kind of housemate who always gives good value. His diary room outburst after Seany left is one of the most honest, heartfelt and funny things I've ever seen on BB, particularly when he kept doing his 'posh' voice that sounded more like Frankie Howerd Legend!

The Laura/ Seany conversation in the garden was the start of it for me. The Shakespeare conversation was classic....I rarely laugh so hard at TV!
My husband actually believes Brian has no idea about living conditions in Ireland and Wales (our daughter has a friend who would be gullible enough to believe something like that). I think I argued my point well though when it came to the Shakespeare bit....anyone, even at primary school these days has heard of Shakespeare, they might not have studied him, but Romeo and Juliet!! I think it was the biggest P***take ever, and the funniest part was the others trying to enlighten him.
