No dialing tone
Bit of a strange problem. I can't get a dial tone on my phone meaning i can't make calls. When i ring the phone with my mobile it rings and displays the caller id but you can't answer the call. Oh but at least the broadband works.
BT are being a pain they are going on about sending out an engineer. Which may incur a charge. I have tried using the test socket, changed microfilters and a corded phone but still no dial tone. Any ideas? |

you probably have a line fault, one leg disconnected. Broadband works down one wire while dial tone requires 2 wires to work. Get your line tested from BT faults 151.
If you have no dial tone at the test socket then there should not be a charge as the fault is on the rented wiring. HTH |
