Pioneer DVR545HX

Can happy users please advise me?
I'm in the process of choosing an HDD/DVD player, and the dvr545hx is a strong contender. It's obviously technically excellent, but I want to know more about its recording facilities, about which Pioneer's website is strangely reticent!

In particular, does it offer a 'time shift buffer' so that, when tuned to a given channel, one can record or play the programme on that channel retrospectively. And if so, how far back in time?

Don't know too much about it apart from the fact that it has a Freeview tuner but is plagued by a grotty remote control unlike my Pioneer DVR530.
