James Marsters who played Spike in Buffy/Angel is going to be in Torchwood.

I am ecstatic! I love James Marsters - I thought he was wonderful in Buffy. Oh happy day!!!

Wow.

Just - wow.

(Wonder if he'll be English accent or not - his American one always sounds fake to me )

Just looked at his imdb entry. Can't believe he is 45 this year!

Quick check on Imdb shows that he has worked consistantly since buffy finished.
Went straight over to angel for the last season of that, then it finished and went to smallville, made a couple of movies, few voice overs...
Not exactly on the breadline.
Maybe you should have said that YOU have not seen him in anything since buffy?

And lets not get too anal retentive about the new Dr Who subforum.
Now and again SOME are going to pop up in the cult section.
I dont think people are doing it to be annoying, they have been posting in this forum for ages and will just take a little time to get used to the new one being there.
Cut them a little slack eh?

Fair do's, slack will be cut. Dr Who exclusive subjects may feel the wrath tho

Won't agree on Masters though, a few TV movies and adverts - to me - shows he's either a bit typecast, or a bit limited. Bit shocked at his age though, he looks damn good for 45!

As for James Masters - he's a truly awful actor. The fact he's had no work since Buffy speaks volumes.”

Wow just wow....It's the Thread Bully again who has to try and put everyone else down (and their opinions) to make himself feel clever and important.

OMG! I thought he was at least 10 years younger!

I have to rethink my crush on him.

A sexy man is a sexy man, no matter their age. Besides his age has always been a grey area, with no one being 100% sure what it is. IMDB does give an actual age now, which they never did before, but people have been speculating for years.

As for him not having done much since Buffy: As well as movies and TV, he is/was in a band, and is frequently touring. He seems to comes over here a lot for gigs. And, while I don't trust everything IMDB says, it does claim on there that he's directed over 70 plays. Plus he has an 11 year old son. That all should keep him fairly busy....

The phrase Fit as Fcuk springs to mind.

It's not about giving a relevent opinion. You're all over this forum .. trying to put other people down in any way you can.
You have the most horrible, negative, mean spirited attitude. A quick search and ...oh look at these lovely comments you've just made to people...

Yeah the big ANNOUNCEMENT, and the sub-forums at the top of the page must have been so hard to miss.

Run along now, your big discussions regarding missing apostrophes await!

A little thing called 'search'.
A little thing called 'hearsay'.
A little thing called 'conjecture'.
A little thing called 'overreacting'.

Yawn....all that trouble to copy and paste from Lostpedia, and yet it comes down to the same smple thing that it always does with the Lost-haters....

Yeah, as you keep saying and saying, and saying.

If I were you I'd have a think about why you feel the need to spoil other peoples threads, why you have such a negative attitude to everyone and why you seem to get enjoyment from trying to put other people down.

Well, he's had guest spots on a few shows, been in a movie and has recently filmed a large part in Hilary Swank's new movie.

Looking at his status, he is banned at the moment so can't reply to your post...

Can we get back on topic now? What was the topic anyway? Oh yes, James Marsters in Torchwood.

Any idea on how big his role is going to be? He could play a character like Billis...

I doubt he'd be playing spike - the sheer cannon-headache would be enough to screw everything up...

i'd imagine a similar character wouldn't be amiss though. This is going to be great, a real geektreat

Great news, would love to see him as a Bilis type character.

After all this, I do hope it's a proper part and not a 10 second cameo

just hope the script will do him justice, although torchwood series 1 was ok, i think they need to make series 2 more mature (not cheesy sex scenes, i mean dialogue, danger, storytelling etc) and really distance it from doctor who and let it live its own life

this will be very very cool! Enjoyed (but didn't love) Torchwood but would definitely see it if James was in it (the only man I'd go straight for! LOL!). He's doing a gig in Cardiff on July 21st - quite tempted to get tickets!

That is great news!!

It's a pity he's not coming to take over from Captain Jack running Torchwood - then maybe we could get our old 'happy-go-lucky' Jack back.

Cheers, daveac

I read an interview with John Barrowman a while back and he said that in series 2, Jack is happier and less angsty after his trip in the TARDIS. I think we saw the turning in Utopia on Sat, when he said he wasn't sure he wanted to die. I suppose last series he was still hurting over being abandoned by the Doctor but when he comes back he'll hve found his answers and be a more cheerful person

awwww I went all mushy then

God I can't bear James Marsters. I bet he'll do his rubbish 'English' accent in it. He really dragged Buffy down in the later seasons.
