Some people forever seem to have nothing better to do than complain about TV programmes. Simply changing channel would be simpler and less time consuming.

I wonder if these people watch the news and moan about the content.

I don't see why people complained either- it won't get them anywhere as it has already aired and was watched by many. The episode was great! I have no complaints!

I no longer watch EE but have to say reading BBC article that I don't think that this should have been broadcast pre-watershed. EE do seem to be going for the sensational as they also had numerous complaints a few weeks back about child abuse being shown & had to review the storyline.

![]() http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a6...s-episode.html Because they are no doubt loyal followers of the show who found the content inappropriate and upsetting. They pay their licence fee remember, they are entitled to express their opinion. The show was screened before the watershed and therefore is intended to be viewed by all family members. Such representations of a mother-to-be, being prepared for butchery by a psychopathic GP, is hardly the sort of content people, particularly children, need to be seeing. |

I dont see why there were complaints, soaps need to reflect real life, and mostly they do, what has happened to Dawn has surely happened to some out there, I think it is good they covered it, and they didn't show anything obscene or gruesome so I can't see why there are complaints over an episode broadcast at 8pm anyway. One thing Eastenders is good for is the way they use real life issues in the soap, people need to be aware of stuff like this, and at the end of the day if someone doesnt like it then why can't they just turn the channel over?!!

Personally I think people who complain about TV shows are sad. If your easily offended don't watch.

I totally agree but parents shouldn't let their kids watch soaps even if they are on before 9pm

It's got to nearly 200 complaints now. Don't these people have anything better to do? The first thing that I think of after watching something on TV isn't to ring/email the BBC and Ofcom to complain about it. It's just a TV programme - it's not a matter of life and death.

I think its so double standard, people are happy to park their kids in front of violent games, and let them watch what they want on tv, yet complain about it later, compared to other countries we have very strict tv screening.

I think EastEnders and Coronation Street vary with each episode. Some are at PG level and some are 12. Emmerdale is pretty much as PG level all the time, apart from the odd episode, but very rarely. I'd say Casualty was a 15 lately with all the strong language and violence. Holby isn't as bad. |

Why watch soaps if you`re just going to complain about them? For goodness sake people, this is a soap, it covers real life things. Yeah, some things are funny on soaps but it isn`t meant to be a comedy program, on soaps some things are sad, some are funny, some are sweet, some are violent, thats soaps for you, don`t watch them if you don`t like them. I think it`s up to parents whether they let their kids watch soaps, I started watching soaps when I was around 11 and although that isn`t incredibly young I really enjoyed them, even the "not so nice" bits. Parents should perhaps check a TV mag or the internet before the show to decide whether it seems suitable for their childs viewing. Whats the point in complaining? If you don`t want your kids watching it, don`t let them!!

I wonder if those same people complain about things in the real world too... children should not be watching EE at 8pm as it goes.
I personally have never complained but are happy that we do have standards in this country to prevent inappropriate material being broadcast before 9.00pm Just because we have irresponsible parents who let 'children' watch inappropriate material on PC etc. does not mean that standards within our national broadcaster should slip. Parents have to be confident about the material to be broadcast. It seems that 'many' last night believe that EE over-stepped the required standard & a warning was not even put out before show started. MB |

A few hundred complaints from x million viewers is not very much however you bat it.
With TV if you don't like it just turn it off, it's not hard. They weren't graphic, nothing happened beside the (basically offscreened) injection |
