DVD/HDD Recorder with Digital and Analogue Tuner
Hiya
If any one can help with advice I'd be grateful. I want to upgrade from good old vhs tapes to a dvd/hard disk drive recorder but am looking for one that does the same as my vhs tape i.e. can record terrestial tv whilst recording cable (virgin) and vice versa. I believe I need a recorder that has both a digital and analogue tuner but am not sure of this fact. Would just the digital tuner do this? I have trawled the web but it's hasn't been easy to find this out. If anyone can advise on this, recommend on any that would be great. I am looking for a decent well known brand model. Many thanks |

How does VHS tape allow you to record terrestrial whilst recording cable? Surely you need two videos to do that?

Pioneer HX models have both an analogue and digital tuner which you can record from (thought not both at the same time). You can also record form an external source such as a cable box.

Sorry, I meant to say in my email that with my vhs I could record a digital/terrestial channel whilst watching another.

If you're recording off cable then you don't need a digital tuner (or any tuner for this). However if you also have an aerial then a DVDR (such as Panny EX75) with a built in digital tuner will let you record Freeview whilst watching cable.
