I have a traditional, ordinary, bog standard tv (oooh I'm embarrassed to even admit that) and I'm only getting half a picture on it - the bottom half.

Does this mean the tube has gone and it's ALL OVER?

Should I be looking for a tv repair man? Or a new tv?

It's almost certainly NOT the tube, 99%+ certain!.

What make and model is the TV?.

It's a Panasonic Quintrix.

About 5 years old.

This only happens when the tv has been on for a little while - it starts off ok.

Sounds like it's overheating.

And what would fix overheating?

I haven't a clue about stuff like this, but I don't want to splash out on a repair man if there isn't any hope, or if I might as well buy a new one.

Probably bad soldered joints then (dry joints), or possibly the frame output IC.

Should be a fairly easy low cost repair.
