Ive been using my new nokia 5100 for accessing the wap cos i get 500 mins free every month,when i got it i at to change the settings from Gprs to Gsm and every thing was fine, i checked to make sure i wasnt connecting by Gprs and checked the counter which was at 0, until today for some reason it says i have downloaded 4161b ? i thought u at to be connected by Gprs for this to go up? ive checked the settings and it says connected to wap.Am i to assume that even that i dont connect by the Gprs and i download a game or ringtone that this counts and i will be charged? ive used wap before and downloaded loads of stuff for nothing,but my other phone wasnt Gprs but still it should be free? if this is right and i do have to pay for it, the o2 website says £3.00 every MB ,what does that mean for 4161b...Cheers

For 4.1kb (4161b) you would be charged about 1.2 pence.
(3/1024 to get price per kb, multiply that by 4)...

Just been reading the orange website and in the small print it says that a megabyte is 1.048.576 bytes...

Ok if you want it to be precise then
3/1048576 to get the price per byte, multiplied by 4161 gives you
1.190471p (round up to 1.2p)

Strictly speaking AFAIK
1kb = 1024 bytes
1mb = 1024 k/bytes (1048576bytes)

Well I aim to please...

I don't actually have a stand alone calculator (that is a just a calculator)... I either use the one with Windows or my PDA has a scientific calculator program, I use that.
