Right you will be impressed...

Your phone runs an OS called Symbian,

so trot on down to

www.my-symbian.com (select Series 60 , as thats the version of Symbian you run)

and see all the loverlly new programs you can get

Infra red remote control.- turns your phone into a remote for your tv/vcr/dvd/hifi

MSN Messenger, ICQ, or AIM Messenger Client Available.

IRC Client (if you ever use IRC on your PC)

You can get an FTP Client, so when you get low on space you can upload your pictures / videos to an FTP...

Yes thats right...go to Nokia's web site and you can get a FREE peice of software... Video recorder for the 7650, record video and sound clips...and send the videos to other people with a 3650 or 7650 or upload them to PC for viewing on there.. sound and video nice

Polyphonic ringtones? Why would you want them crap things play a 20 second clip of the actual song instead ! 7650 supports .wav files as a ringtone , so make a .wav file for your ringtone.

I recommend getting Handy file too, you may need a file manager for your phone.

If you need more help PM me......

I'm just looking at the 7650 thinking about buying it.

Got 2 questions. Can I take a picture and send it to my mates phone. (he owns a sharp gx-10 wiv camera)
He sez i can't, but as far as i can see both the sharp and nokia 7650 do Photo Messaging.

Also if I can get a sim free version, i can run it on my Orange pay as you go scheme which i have on my nokia 3310e.

tar

If your mate can recieve MMS (Multi Media Messages) from the network you are on, then YES he can receive pictures no matter what phone its sent from, tell him off your friend is stupid! What he will not be able to do, is recieve videos from if you get a 7650 (And add the video software) since the sharp does not support videos.

Yes you can get it Sim free, but it will cost you between £300 and £400 new.......

Got my Nokia 7650 about a month ago and I'm discovering new things it can do every day. Loads of games and software available to download for free and also free ringtones. It supports midi files. Who wants a 20 second clip when you can have the full 4 minute version of a song as a polyphonic ringtone. There are loads of midi sites all offering files for free, which can be used on the 7650.
Get yourself a bluetooth dongle for your pc and you'll expand the 7650's funtionality greatly. It integrates with Microsoft Outlook to keep your contacts and calendar up to date and you'll need the nokia pc suite to upload some software.
You can even get a real html web browser for it to access the "real" internet over GPRS or dial up. I got mine as a handset only and it works fine with my Orange Pay as you go SIM, just needed to call them to activate data transfer and MMS.

If you need to know any settings for GPRS or anything, drop me a line.

The 3650 and 7650 are great phones, and they are pretty much the same, except the 3650 looks better (IMHO, of course ) and has an MMC slot.

My favourite file manager is Fexplorer, which is free. Another useful app is MiniGPS, which can automatically switch profiles depending on your location. Available here.

Enjoy you phone!

I've ordered my 7650, arrives on monday! yay! I like you just ordered the simfree one and using Orange Pay as you go. Just a question, is it free to get data transfer and MMS activated? plus what number to dial? the standard Orange operator?

Thanx! I can't wait till monday! one long weekend ahead.

They are not the same phone, can do simular things, 3650 has the advantage of expandable memory, got to Nokia's web site to see the full differences. 90% of software made for it will work on both, since they both run Symbian OS 6

I got my missus a 3510i when i picked up the 7650, and have been trying to get ringtones for her ever since!

I can send mid files to the 7650 via IR, but can't forward them to the 3510i - is it possible to do this?

Also, .mmf files i have picked up on the net don't seem to work. Is there an idiot's guide on the net somewhere that will assist me in this and other littel issues I am having. Its all very well downloading ringtones etc via wap, but obviously the cost is mounting!

i just got loads of sweet poly's for my phone, found a pay website that forgot to make the files .mp3 instead of .mid.
You will need a datacable, and oxygen ringtone workshop along with an editior to make ur .mid's shorter, cos from the site they are full songs!! and are too big for the phone. I found Anvil studio and easy program to use for shorteneing midi files.

Yes, it's free to get activated. Just ask, they want you to use it, means more airtime/cash for them.

Think I dialled 450 or 452, just the normal customer service number for just talk.
